Juve: ‘Positive signals’ for Ronaldo

Juventus have reportedly been given ‘positive signals’ in their pursuit of Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, there is increasing confidence on Juve’s part that Ronaldo is headed for Turin.

The Sky Sport Italia journalist explains Madrid are aware that Ronaldo wants a new challenge after nine years at the Santiago Bernabeu and do not want to get in his way.

That was corroborated by Sport Mediaset, which claimed his agent Jorge Mendes was due in Milan on Friday.

Sporting fury with Rui Patricio rescission

Sporting CP are furious with Rui Patricio’s decision to terminate his contract. “Jorge Mendes wanted more than €7m of the €18m!”

Fan trouble reportedly instigated Rui Patricio to rescind his contract with Sporting, but President Bruno de Carvalho suggested the goalkeeper was ill-advised by the super-agent after Wolverhampton Wanderers matched Napoli’s €18m bid.

“What brings us here is Rui Patricio’s request for termination, and all that brings alarm to Sporting,” he began.

Valencia are reportedly pushing hard to bring back Joao Cancelo from his loan spell at Inter.

According to Superdeporte, Valencia have identified Cancelo as their third January arrival after Luciano Vietto and Francis Coquelin, to the extent that Coach Marcelino is prepared to wait until the last few days of the transfer window for the right-back.

His agent Jorge Mendes would have also ‘insisted’ that Cancelo was released by Inter, but the newspaper warns the Nerazzurri are demanding a fee for the Portuguese’s arrangement to be cut short.
