Milan 'go for Rakitic & De Paul'

After reporting Franck Kessie could leave in January, Sport Mediaset now claims Milan will focus on signing Ivan Rakitic and Rodrigo de Paul.

A poor start to the season has fuelled speculation that Milan will make changes to their squad this winter.

As revealed earlier, Sport Mediaset expects Kessie to be the subject of renewed interest from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Diavolo are said to be ready to part with the Ivorian for a fee of around €25m.

Serie A stars in Argentina squad

Juan Musso, German Pezzella, Rodrigo de Paul, Lautaro Martinez and Paulo Dybala have all been called up to the latest Argentina squad.

Musso and De Paul have become stalwarts under Lionel Scaloni, despite Udinese’s wretched run of form, which has seen the goalkeeper concede 11 goals in their last two games.

However, there is still no place for Inter loanee Mauro Icardi, despite his return of seven goals in seven games for Paris Saint-Germain.

'De Paul will end up at Milan'

As it is reported Milan plan to step up their pursuit of Rodrigo de Paul, Luciano Moggi expects the Udinese forward to become Rossonero.

Milan were briefly linked with De Paul over the summer but were in constant contact with his agent Agustin Jimenez, who also represents Angel Correa.

According to Calciomercato.com, the Diavolo are not giving up on the Argentina international, although any move may have to wait until next year.

Official: De Paul extends at Udinese

Argentina international Rodrigo De Paul has officially signed a new five-year contract with Udinese until June 2024.

The creative midfielder has become a regular for his country thanks to the performances at club level in Serie A.

He had been linked with Milan, Inter, Napoli, Roma or Fiorentina over the summer, but has instead committed himself to the Friulani.

De Paul arrived in the summer of 2016 and notched up 18 goals in 116 competitive games for Udinese.

He had his best season in 2018-19, putting together nine goals and nine assists.

Tension in Argentina victory

Argentina beat Ecuador 6-1 in a friendly match, with Fiorentina defender German Pezzella on target, but Lautaro Martinez had a moment of tension.

The Seleccion were already 2-0 up when they were awarded a penalty and it wasn’t clear who was meant to take it.

Inter striker Lautaro Martinez and Leandro Paredes both wanted the ball, so eventually Udinese midfielder Rodrigo De Paul intervened to calm the situation down.

Paredes eventually won and converted successfully, which saw him hug Lautaro during the celebration.

Argentina grab Germany draw

Rodrigo De Paul hit the woodwork with a scorching strike, as Argentina fought back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Emre Can’s Germany.

The friendly match was played in Dortmund, with the Seleccion starting Inter striker Lautaro Martinez and Juventus forward Paulo Dybala together.

It was another Serie A player, Udinese creative midfielder De Paul, who made a good impression with his long-range screamer rattling the frame of the goal.

Germany went 2-0 up by half-time with goals from Serge Gnabry and Kai Havertz.

Lautaro Martinez and Paulo Dybala will start together in Argentina’s friendly against Germany, confirmed Lionel Scaloni.

Dybala and Lautaro Martinez join Angel Correa in a trident attack, while Udinese’s Rodrigo De Paul plays in midfield.

The game kicks off at the Westfalenstadion on Wednesday at 19.45 UK time.

Udinese lose De Paul appeal

Udinese will be without Rodrigo de Paul against Bologna on Sunday after their appeal to trim his suspension was rejected.

De Paul was given a three-match ban for slapping Inter winger Antonio Candreva, but Udinese hoped the FIGC would let him return a game early.

However, the governing body’s appeal court ruled on Thursday that the punishment stood, meaning he will miss the visit of Bologna this weekend.

The Zebrette have struggled without their talisman, taking just one point off promoted pair Brescia and Verona.
