Milan and Davide Calabria are reportedly both hoping for smooth contract extension talks, even if the two parties have not yet formally met to discuss a renewal.

The 27-year-old right-back is under contract for just over a year, until the summer of 2025, but he is keen to commit for several more years to the club that he joined at the age of 10 in 2007.

According to transfer expert Matteo Moretto, Milan have now informed Calabria’s agents of their desire to renew his contract, although they have not yet presented a formal offer.

The club and the agents have also not yet discussed specific figures, however, it is understood that Calabria will not make any unreasonable demands.

In fact, Moretto reports that the Rossoneri captain has not requested an increase in salary at any stage.

Calabria recently celebrated his 200th Serie A appearance for Milan, and is now up to 255 outings in all competitions for Stefano Pioli’s side. 26 of those league appearances came during the Scudetto-winning campaign under Pioli in 2021-22.
