Prade: 'Ribery moves me'

Fiorentina director of sport Daniele Pradè is “moved every time I see Franck Ribery advising younger teammates. I never imagined bringing him to Florence.”

The France international made the move as a free agent after 12 years at Bayern Munich.

“I never imagined that we could bring a world class player like him to Florence,” Pradè told Brivido Sportivo.

Antognoni: 'Fiorentina are building'

Fiorentina director Giancarlo Antognoni praised new buys Kevin-Prince Boateng and Pol Lirola, insisting “players will get accustomed to staying.”

This is a period of upheaval for the club, as the Della Valle brothers sold up after 17 years to new patron Rocco Commisso.

“We have to repay the fans for their enthusiasm by forming a competitive squad and doing as best we can,” Antognoni told Radio Bruno Toscana.

There were two new signings yesterday, as Boateng and Lirola arrived from Sassuolo for a combined €17m.

Official: Lirola and Boateng to Fiorentina

Fiorentina have officially signed both Kevin-Prince Boateng and Pol Lirola from Sassuolo.

The Ghana international has moved for €1m, while Lirola is on loan with obligation to buy.

It’s reported the Lirola deal is worth €12m plus another €4m in performance-related bonuses.

The Spanish right-back turns 22 later this month and spent time at the Espanyol and Juventus youth academies.

Fiorentina deny Nainggolan talk, but...

Fiorentina have denied that they are close to signing Radja Nainggolan but confirmed Pol Lirola’s arrival and reiterated Federico Chiesa is staying.

Rocco Commisso’s right-hand man Joe Barone gave an interview to TGR Rai Toscana on Wednesday evening, where he praised Fiorentina sporting director Daniele Prade for bringing in Lirola and Kevin-Prince Boateng from Sassuolo.

Sassuolo full-back Pol Lirola is expected to join Fiorentina over the next 48 hours for €12m plus €4m in bonuses.

Sky Sport Italia, Sportitalia, La Gazzetta dello Sport and more are all confident negotiations have reached an advanced stage.

There was a key meeting today in Milan between Viola and Neroverdi representatives, along with agent Edoardo Crnjar.

It’s believed the Spanish talent will move to Fiorentina for €12m plus €4m in add-ons.

Fiorentina cool on Lirola?

Fiorentina have reportedly cooled their interest in Sassuolo full-back Pol Lirola and could now move for Lazio’s Patric.

Lirola seemed to be destined for Fiorentina, but La Nazione claims Sassuolo have raised their asking price from €15m and the Viola are not prepared to go over their initial offer as it stands.

With that in mind, the newspaper writes the Tuscans have switched their attentions to Patric.

The 24-year-old is also a Spaniard and too came up through Barcelona’s youth ranks.

Fiorentina reportedly hope to reunite Pol Lirola with Sassuolo teammate Kevin-Prince Boateng.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Fiorentina are ready to bring in Boateng on a season-long loan.

The attacker recently returned to Sassuolo from Barcelona and is expected to stay in Italy as he looks to repair his relationship with wife Melissa Satta.

Sassuolo: 'Sell Lirola at right price'

Sassuolo director Giovanni Carnevali confirms Fiorentina target Pol Lirola “wants to leave, but we need the right financial conditions.”

The full-back is a former Juventus youth team product who turns 22 next month and has been pin-pointed as the ideal reinforcement for Vincenzo Montella’s side.

“We have currently not had the chance to talk to Pol Lirola, because the player is still on vacation,” Sassuolo general manager Giovanni Carnevali told La Gazzetta di Modena.

Sassuolo have agreed a deal to sign Borussia Dortmund right-back Jeremy Toljan, freeing Pol Lirola up for Fiorentina.

Sky Sport Italia and Sportitalia both report Toljan will join Sassuolo on a season-long loan, with the former adding there is an option to buy in place.

The 24-year-old struggled for first-team football in his two seasons at Dortmund and ended the previous campaign on loan at Celtic.

Sassuolo look at Toljan

Sassuolo have set their sights on Borussia Dortmund full-back Jeremy Toljan, as Pol Lirola continues talks with Fiorentina.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the Neroverdi are eyeing up the German right-back who turns 25 next month.

It’s believed he is the heir to Spaniard Lirola, who is in negotiations for a move to Florence.

Toljan joined Borussia Dortmund from Hoffenheim for €7m in 2017 and spent the last six months on loan at Celtic.
