Juve cutting wages

Juventus continue working to lower their wage bill, trying to offload Sami Khedira, Mattia De Sciglio and Marko Pjaca this summer.

Juventus run at loss of 71.4m

Juventus released their financial statements for the year ending 2020, running at a loss of €71.4m, but saved €90m with player wage reductions during the lockdown.

This was expected to be a difficult year for the Bianconeri and not just due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The club is running at a loss of €71.4m, “marking a negative change of €31.5m compared to the loss of €39.9m registered in the previous year.

Higuain follows Matuidi to Inter Miami?

Gonzalo Higuain could follow former Juventus teammate Blaise Matuidi by signing for MLS club Inter Miami.

New coach Andrea Pirlo said in no uncertain terms that Higuain is not part of his plans and should find himself another club.

His contract expires in June 2021, so he is negotiating a termination by mutual consent, which would allow the Bianconeri to save on his €7.5m per season wages.

According to L'Obs transfer correspondent Abdellah Boulma, 32-year-old Higuain is in advanced negotiations with Inter Miami.

Matuidi: 'It was time to leave Juventus'

Blaise Matuidi explains why ‘the time had come’ to leave Juventus for Inter Miami, how COVID-19 changed his mind and learning to appreciate Maurizio Sarri.

The 33-year-old midfielder terminated his contract by mutual consent so that he could join David Beckham’s MLS club on a free transfer, ending three seasons in Turin.

“The time had come for a change of direction,” Matuidi told L’Equipe newspaper.

Official: Matuidi leaves Juventus

Blaise Matuidi has officially terminated his contract with Juventus by mutual consent and is now expected to join Inter Miami in MLS.

The 33-year-old midfielder had joined from PSG in the summer of 2017 for €25m plus bonuses.

He is widely expected to sign for Major League Soccer club Inter Miami, run by David Beckham.

“The French midfielder leaves Juventus after three years and five trophies won at the club,” read a statement.

Reports: Matuidi moves to Inter Miami

Matuidi to MLS?

Juventus are starting their project to rejuvenate the squad and La Gazzetta dello Sport claims Blaise Matuidi could move to Inter Miami in the MLS.

The newspaper claims David Beckham’s team are close to reach an agreement with the player, who is ready to end his stay in Turin a year early.

The French midfielder played 35 times in Serie A 2019-20 and his deal at the Allianz Stadium expires in June 2021.

The Bianconeri sacked Maurizio Sarri after the Champions League exit and hired former midfielder Andrea Pirlo, starting a new era in Turin.
