Benatia: 'Loser excuses against Juve'

Medhi Benatia reveals he “relied on the same loser excuses” against Juventus when he was at Roma. “They don’t play well, the referee is helping, etc.”

The defender sat down with teammate Blaise Matuidi for YouTube channel Bros. Stories.

“That’s what people in Italy don’t understand. They are always looking for excuses, but don’t look at the way in which Juventus work.

Matuidi: 'Juve other dimension to PSG'

Blaise Matuidi admits joining Juventus he realised it was “entering a whole new dimension” compared to Paris Saint-Germain.

The France international completed his transfer to Turin over the summer, although it had already been in the air the year before.

“What struck me when I arrived was I went through the Juventus Museum and thought… wow… so many trophies,” said Matuidi when talking to teammate Medhi Benatia on YouTube channel Bros Stories.

Pjanic: Juve ‘need’ Dybala

Miralem Pjanic says he is not surprised by how Blaise Matuidi has slotted in at Juventus but confesses they ‘need’ Paulo Dybala’s qualities.

Matuidi has already made 29 appearances for Juve in his first season at the club, while Dybala has only just come back from a hamstring injury, which ruled him out of the past month.

“Did Matuidi surprise me? No, I knew Blaise way before,” the midfielder told Premium Sport.

Matuidi back on Monday?

Juventus could have Blaise Matuidi available for the second leg with Tottenham Hotspur, as it’s reported he’ll return to training on Monday.

The Frenchman missed Tuesday’s 2-2 draw in the Champions League Last 16 first leg with a thigh problem, and many pundits felt the Bianconeri missed his physicality and industry.

Now Tuttosport is reporting that he could return to training on Monday morning, after Sunday’s Derby della Mole with Torino.

Juve must find Matuidi alternative

Blaise Matuidi’s injury will force Juventus to reshuffle against Tottenham Hotspur's high press, so Gregory Caltabanis examines the options

With Blaise Matuidi out indefinitely due to a thigh strain, Massimiliano Allegri may have to look at reshuffling his set-up, especially in the midfield. Since joining Juventus, the Frenchman has established himself as an integral part to the Bianconeri midfield and complements Miralem Pjanic more than anyone on the club’s books, particularly off the ball.

While his technical abilities have left a bit to be desired, Matuidi has proven to be a willing runner, constantly pressing and hassling opponents.

It had to be Bernardeschi...

The stage was set for Federico Bernardeschi's return to the Stadio Franchi, writes Emmet Gates, and Juventus breezed round obstacles to beat Fiorentina.

It had to be him, didn’t it? All the talk going into Friday night’s clash centered around Federico Bernardeschi.

How vociferous would the Viola faithful be on his first return back to the arena where they once idolised him? Would he receive the Roberto Baggio circa 1991 treatment? And furthermore, how would the 23-year-old handle the pressure of the whistles that would be rained down upon him?

Matuidi out for a month?

It’s reported Juventus will be without Blaise Matuidi for around a month, but they aim to have him back for the return leg with Tottenham Hotspur.

The midfielder went off with a thigh injury against Sassuolo on Sunday, and though he had scans yesterday to confirm a flexor tear, the Bianconeri have not yet announced a recovery time.

Matuidi has thigh injury

Juventus have confirmed that midfielder Blaise Matuidi has suffered a thigh injury, which will require further tests.

The French international went off injured in the first half of yesterday’s Sassuolo match, and it was reported earlier today he could face a month on the sidelines.

“Following the injury sustained yesterday against Sassuolo, Blaise Matuidi underwent tests at J|Medical on Monday afternoon, which revealed a mild-medium tear to the flexor muscles in his left thigh,” the Bianconeri confirmed on their official website.

Matuidi out for a month?

Blaise Matuidi’s thigh injury could be worse than first feared as the Juventus midfielder reportedly risks a month out.

Matuidi was forced off during Juve’s 7-0 victory over Sassuolo on Sunday, with Max Allegri stating after the game that the Frenchman would miss their upcoming games against Fiorentina and Tottenham Hotspur.

However, Corriere della Sera believes the 30-year-old faces a longer spell on the sidelines, potentially ruling him out of the derby with Torino, as well as a double header against Atalanta and trips to Lazio and Wembley Stadium.
