Juventus short in the middle

The Serie A landscape is changing. Though Juventus remain Scudetto favourites, there is a genuine threat to the Old Lady’s uninterrupted six-year reign at the top, and the ambitious challengers who ran them close last year, notably Napoli, will firmly believe they can end the dominance of Italy’s most successful side.

Matuidi to Juventus delayed

Blaise Matuidi has completed his Juventus medical, but the deal isn’t done yet because Paris Saint-Germain seek detailed incentives.

The 30-year-old France international arrived yesterday and underwent a series of tests in Turin.

“We have a verbal agreement with PSG and it will soon be official,” Juventus director Beppe Marotta told reporters today.

According to Le Parisien, the delay is due to some details with regards to the bonuses.

Marotta: 'Alex Sandro wants Juve'

Juventus director Beppe Marotta confirms they rejected Chelsea’s offer for Alex Sandro because “he said he wants to stay here.”

Antonio Conte has made no secret of his desire to sign the Brazilian left-back, reportedly offering over €70m.

“He said he wants to stay here, so we sent the offers right back where they came from,” Marotta told reporters in the mixed zone today.

Matuidi completes Juventus medical

Blaise Matuidi has completed his Juventus medical, so should officially sign from Paris Saint-Germain later today.

The French international arrived in Turin yesterday, and took the first part of his medical in the evening.

This morning he returned to J-Medical to complete the remainder of the tests, and the club has now confirmed that the medical process is complete.

“Blaise Matuidi has completed his medical ahead of a proposed move from Paris Saint-Germain,” the Bianconeri confirmed on their official website.

Matuidi continues Juventus medical

Blaise Matuidi is taking the second part of his Juventus medical, ahead of joining from Paris Saint-Germain.

The midfielder flew into Turin yesterday, and successfully completed the first part of the necessary health checks at J-Medical.

“Blaise Matuidi has completed the first part of his medical ahead of a proposed move from Paris Saint-Germain,” a statement on the Bianconeri’s website said.

Matuidi to cost Juve almost €30m

Blaise Matuidi underwent the first part of his Juventus medical today and it’s reported they’ll pay Paris Saint-Germain €20m plus up to €10m in bonuses.

The France international arrived in Turin this morning and had his medical this afternoon, though more tests are expected tomorrow.

Sky Sport Italia claim the cost of the operation is €20m plus up to another €10m in various bonuses.

Matuidi arrives for Juventus

Blaise Matuidi has arrived in Turin to take his Juventus medical, with around 50 fans waiting for him.

The Paris Saint-Germain midfielder is set to join the Bianconeri today, for a fee reported to be between €15m and €20m.

It’s expected the French international will sign a three-year contract worth €4.5m per season, and he could be in the squad for Saturday’s game with Cagliari.

Matuidi expected at Juventus

Reports in France corroborate those in Italy saying Paris Saint-Germain’s Blaise Matuidi could join Juventus today.

It was reported earlier today that the midfielder is expected in Turin for a medical, with TuttoJuve later reporting it will take place at 16.00 local time.

Now Le Parisien quotes an unnamed Juve director as telling them the deal is “very hot indeed”.

The newspaper believes the fee will be around €20m, with Matuidi to sign a three-year contract.

Reports: Juve medical for Matuidi

There are growing reports that Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Blaise Matuidi will undergo a medical with Juventus on Wednesday afternoon.

Among those running the story is Gianluca Di Marzio’s website, which claims “a total agreement” has been reached for Matuidi to join Juve.

Furthermore, a deal would have been struck for €20m plus bonuses, while the midfielder is expected take his medical imminently ahead of being unveiled on Thursday.

Juve: €25m for Matuidi?

Juventus are reportedly hoping to clinch a deal worth up to €25m for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Blaise Matuidi.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Matuidi could become a Juve player in time for their Serie A opener against Cagliari, with a three-year contract already agreed.

Furthermore, the Old Lady would be optimistic of meeting PSG’s €25m asking price by agreeing to reach that figure with bonuses.

Gianluca Di Marzio’s website, meanwhile, has gone one step further by stating an agreement has been reached with the French giants.
