Juventus hold firm on Matuidi

Juventus are reportedly unwilling to raise their offer for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Blaise Matuidi above €15m.

The Bianconeri are looking for a midfielder this summer, and have rekindled their interest in the French international after a transfer collapsed at the last minute last summer.

According to today’s Gazzetta dello Sport, Matuidi remains at the top of the shortlist, but Juve won’t raise their offer above €15m.

PSG want at least €20m, meaning the two parties have reached something of an impasse.

Juve target Matic to Man Utd

Juventus seem to have missed out on one of their midfield targets, as Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic is ready for Manchester United.

The Bianconeri had suggested Matic as one of the potential additions to their squad, along with Blaise Matuidi of Paris Saint-Germain and Sevilla’s Steven N’Zonzi.

According to multiple reports this afternoon, Manchester United have reached an agreement with Chelsea for Matic.

The asking price had been around £50m, which was already more than enough to put Juventus off the idea.

Juventus seek William Carvalho

Juventus are ready to challenge Arsenal for the signature of William Carvalho, who has a €40m clause in his Sporting CP contract, according to Tuttosport.

The 25-year-old midfielder can also play at centre-back when needed, making him a valuable addition to the Bianconeri squad.

He came up through the Sporting academy and already has 37 senior caps for Portugal.

While Juve continue negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain for Blaise Matuidi, they are also targeting Carvalho as a younger option for their midfield.

Marotta: 'Bonucci wanted Milan'

Juventus director Beppe Marotta said keeping Leonardo Bonucci “against his will would’ve been counter-productive” after the Milan transfer.

The shock move developed very quickly for €42m after seven years in Turin.

“With Bonucci we accepted his personal and professional desire, which was to join Milan. There was the feeling he could go. It was not about incidents so much as motivation that was lacking.

“We have found that keeping players against their will is counter-productive,” Marotta told Sky Sport Italia.

Juve revive Matuidi talks

Juventus are reviving their bid to sign Blaise Matuidi from Paris Saint-Germain after running into problems for Nemanja Matic and Emre Can.

Max Allegri wants a big midfield reinforcement this summer and Matuidi was the first on the list a couple of months ago.

The Bianconeri turned elsewhere due to the €40m price-tag, but Sky Sport Italia report today that they’ve gone back to the 30-year-old France international.

This is because Liverpool are not prepared to release Emre Can, while Chelsea man Matic seems closer to Manchester United.

Juventus target Blaise Matuidi is coy on his future - “right now I’m at pre-season with Paris Saint-Germain, afterward anything could happen”.

The Bianconeri were on the verge of signing the midfielder last summer, but the Ligue 1 club pulled the plug at the last minute.

It has been suggested that the Old Lady could return for the French international, who has refused to confirm he’ll stay at Parc des Princes.

Matuidi or Can for Juve?

Juventus will reportedly “press” for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Blaise Matuidi today but will turn to Liverpool’s Emre Can if their €15m bid is rejected.

However, the newspaper warns the Bianconeri will not go beyond €15m for the 30-year-old.

If no agreement is found then Can is said to be Juve’s second choice, although no fee has been mentioned for the Liverpool man.
