Matuidi still open to Juventus?

French sports newspaper L’Équipe claims Blaise Matuidi could still join Juventus this week.

The Bianconeri had been trying to bring the French international to Turin as a replacement for his compatriot, Paul Pogba.

Marotta: 'Matuidi won't join Juve'

Juventus director Beppe Marotta confirmed Blaise Matuidi is “not on the market. We’re missing the cherry, but it’s still a nice cake.”

The Bianconeri had been expected to sign Matuidi this week, but Paris Saint-Germain suddenly announced he’d be extending his contract.

“Nothing in particular happened,” Marotta told Mediaset Premium. “We asked for Matuidi and PSG politely told us he was not on the market.

Sissoko next on Juventus list

Juventus are pushing for Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko after PSG slammed the door on Blaise Matuidi, but there are other options.

This evening Paris Saint-Germain patron Nasser Al-Khelaifi told Le Parisien that Matuidi “will not be leaving and in fact will extend his contract. He remains an icon for our club.”

The Bianconeri must now turn elsewhere for a Paul Pogba replacement only days away from the transfer deadline on August 31.

PSG: 'No Juventus for Matuidi'

Paris Saint-Germain poured cold water over Juventus hopes by announcing “Blaise Matuidi will extend his contract.”

The midfielder is currently tied to the club until June 2018 and the Bianconeri are in negotiations for his signature.

However, this evening PSG slammed the door shut on the France international.

“I can confirm he will not be leaving and in fact will extend his contract,” President Nasser Al-Khelaifi told Le Parisien.

Juve baulk at €30m Matuidi demands

Juventus are losing hope for Blaise Matuidi, as Paris Saint-Germain refuse to lower their €30m asking price.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the signs from Paris this evening are not promising.

The demands remain €30m and will not be lowered.

The Bianconeri do not intend to pay that much for the 29-year-old France international, offering €25m.

PSG signed the midfielder from Saint-Etienne for €8m in 2011.

Allegri: ‘Matuidi? No comment…’

Juventus Coach Massimiliano Allegri won’t be drawn on Paris Saint-Germain’s Blaise Matuidi - “I don’t talk about players from other teams”.

The French midfielder is a target for the Bianconeri, with general manager Beppe Marotta saying yesterday that he’s “optimistic” a deal can be done.

“I don’t talk about players from other teams,” Allegri shrugged in his Press conference ahead of the Lazio game.
