Allegri considers Juve alternatives

Max Allegri is keeping Napoli on their toes with several potential changes to the Juventus line-up and tactical system this evening.

Matuidi: ‘Juventus are proud’

Blaise Matuidi says Juventus are “proud of what we did” against Real Madrid, despite going out of the Champions League.

The Bianconeri lost 3-0 to the holders in Turin, but had turned the tie around at the Bernabeu and were 3-0 up in injury time.

However, Medhi Benatia conceded a penalty which was converted by Cristiano Ronaldo, sending Juve out of the competition.

“I think everyone saw our great commitment in the Champions League, even if we are disappointed by the elimination,” Matuidi told Juventus TV.

Juventus’ heroic efforts in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final with Real Madrid came up short in the end, as a controversial penalty ruling in the dying moments saw Cristiano Ronaldo bury the decisive goal.

In the aftermath, the Bianconeri and fanbase pin-pointed the official’s decision to award Lucas Vazquez a penalty as the main reason they are going home, but it is hard to argue their first leg performance made the overall goal of advancing much harder than it needed to be.

Juve consider 4-2-4 at Madrid?

Juventus are reportedly considering a 4-2-4 formation for Wednesday’s Champions League quarter-final second leg against Real Madrid.

According to Tuttosport, the 4-2-4 is one of two formations Juve could adopt when they try to overturn their 3-0 deficit at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The newspaper explains the first is a 4-3-3, with a midfield of Blaise Matuidi, Miralem Pjanic and Sami Khedira in midfield supporting Gonzalo Higuain and two of Douglas Costa, Juan Cuadrado and Mario Mandzukic up top.

Matuidi: Juve ‘almost dizzying’

Blaise Matuidi admits he feels ‘almost dizzy’ whenever he thinks about the history of Juventus.

Matuidi is coming to the end of his first season as a Juve player, and the former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder confessed to being taken aback by the Bianconeri.

“To have progressed like I have has been a surprise. I feel like I’ve moved up a level,” he told Bros. Stories on YouTube.

Matuidi: 'Juve can eliminate Real Madrid'

Blaise Matuidi is confident Juventus “have everything it takes” to eliminate Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals.

The midfielder spoke to reporters after France threw away a 2-0 lead to lose their friendly 3-2 against Colombia last night.

“Eliminating Real Madrid will be difficult, but Juve have everything it takes to achieve that,” said Matuidi.

“It’s a very important game for us and a very complicated one, because they are a great side and the reigning champions of Europe.

Matuidi: ‘Scudetto will go to the wire’

Juventus midfielder Blaise Matuidi believes the Scudetto race will go down to the wire as “Napoli are having the season of their lives”.

The Bianconeri are a point clear at the top of Serie A, but both teams are setting a furious pace and are likely to crack the 90 point barrier.

Blaise Matuidi admits he found Juventus ‘tiring’ at first but credits his first six months at the club for making him ‘stronger’.

Matuidi: 'Dybala can change game'

Blaise Matuidi trusts Juventus can beat Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League and Paulo Dybala “is capable of changing a game.”
