Gomez: An honour to be here

New Milan signing Gustavo Gomez says it is ‘an honour’ to have joined the Rossoneri.

The Paraguayan today completed a move to Serie A from Argentine team Atletico Lanus and gave an interview to the San Siro club’s official website.

“I am very happy to be able to play for a club like Milan,” 23-year-old Gomez said. “Over the coming weeks I will put myself at the Coach’s disposal. I am happy to have arrived in Serie A.”

Official: Gomez joins Milan

Milan have announced they have completed the signing of Paraguayan Gustavo Gomez.

The defender arrives at San Siro on an initial year-long loan deal, with the Rossoneri reserving the right to sign him permanently for a suspected €8.5m.

The 23-year-old moves to Italy from Argentine club Atletico Lanus, with the San Siro club breaking the news via their official Twitter account.

“New arrival with the Rossoneri: welcome Gomez,” the short announcement reads.

Gomez set to sign for Milan

Gustavo Gomez is in Milan ahead of signing a deal to join the Rossoneri.

The Paraguay international will sign for the San Siro club on an initial one-year loan deal, with Milan then having the option to sign him on a permanent basis. That eventuality would cost the club €8.5m.

The 23-year-old moves to Serie A from Argentine outfir Atletico Lanus.

Gomez to undergo Milan medical

It is reported that Gustavo Gomez will undergo a medical at Milan on Friday ahead of joining the club.

The Paraguayan defender is said to have completed negotiations with the Rossoneri ahead of a move from Argentine outfit Lanus.

Premium Sport claim that confirmation of a deal that will see the 23-year-old move to San Siro on an initial one-year loan deal, with the option for Milan to sign the player next summer, is imminent.

‘Gomez speaks to Barca, Borussia’

The Besiktas general manager has revealed that Mario Gomez is in negotiations with Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund.

The Fiorentina spent a successful loan spell in Turkey last season, playing a key role in Besiktas’ title success.

However, speaking to Press agency Anadolu today, Metin Albayrak admitted the chances of the German international returning to his club were remote.

“Our supporters are hoping to see him in a Besiktas shirt again,” Albayrak said. “But we know that it will be difficult to see him here again.

Gomez: 'Besiktas the right choice'

Mario Gomez admits Fiorentina “didn’t go the way I wanted and I needed a change of scenery” after joining Besiktas.

It is only a loan deal with option to buy for the striker who turned 30 last month.

“Looking over my two seasons in Florence, it didn’t go the way I wanted,” he confessed to reporters in Turkey.

Gomez: 'Germany via Besiktas'

Mario Gomez explained he is leaving Fiorentina for Besiktas “to get back into the Germany side for Euro 2016.”

The striker only just turned 30 and today completed his loan move with option to buy.

“I am happy with this new adventure,” Gomez told reporters in Istanbul.

“My only objective is to do well here and I think I can do it. Besiktas has one of the best fanbases in the whole world and I received a marvellous welcome.

‘Formalities for Gomez to Besiktas’

Fiorentina director general Andrea Rogg reveals they are down to ‘formalities’ for Mario Gomez’s move to Besiktas.

The German international has been spoken of as being close to the Turkish side for several weeks, but was reportedly unsure over a move.

“Gomez out? Let’s see, everything should materialise in the next few hours,” FiorentinaViola reports Rogg as saying.

“We’re down to the last formalities with Besiktas, we should get it done.

Fiorentina net 10 in friendly

Fiorentina got off to a comfortable start, as Coach Paulo Sousa’s debut was a 10-0 victory over local Trentino Team.

The former Basel boss made his first appearance on the bench, but missed big players including Borja Valero, Joaquin, Josip Ilicic, Giuseppe Rossi and Stefan Savic.

The Viola started out with a 3-5-2 system, though with Ahmed Hegazi playing almost between defence and midfield lines.

Bakic opened the scoring with a curling finish, quickly followed by Gondo and a Michele Camporese volley.
