Gomez finally heading to Boca

Despite reports of a complete collapse, Sky Sport Italia are confident Milan defender Gustavo Gomez will sign for Boca Juniors.

The two clubs had agreed terms on a deal worth €6m plus 20 per cent of a future sale.

However, the Paraguay international had run into issues over personal terms and salary.

TyC Sports had even reported Gomez was flying to Milan in order to attend pre-season training.

Meanwhile, it was rumoured that Lazio had made an approach for the centre-back too.

‘Zaza? Sandwiches or caviar…’

Sporting director Massimiliano Mirabelli says Milan must ‘decide whether to get a sandwich or caviar and champagne’ when asked about Simone Zaza.

The Valencia striker has been heavily linked with the Rossoneri in recent days, with suggestions that a deal has already been agreed.

“We’re not thinking about any signings when we don’t know what resources we have available,” Mirabelli explained to Sky.

Gustavo Gomez is on the verge of joining Boca Juniors after the Milan defender passed his medical.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the clubs finally reached a breakthrough after months of negotiations.

The deal is worth €6m plus 20 per cent of a sell-on fee.

It seems he already underwent his medical and no problems were flagged up, so the transfer is imminent.

Gustavo Gomez heading to Boca

Milan defender Gustavo Gomez is finally on the verge of a transfer to Boca Juniors for €6m plus 20 per cent sell-on fee.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the deal is at last done and should be completed over the next few days.

Boca have been in talks since January, but haggled over the price-tag and it was abandoned.

The Paraguay international was purchased from Lanus in 2016, but made just 20 competitive appearances for the Rossoneri.

He played just one game throughout all of last season, for 10 minutes in the Europa League.

Boca abandon Gustavo Gomez

Boca Juniors are reportedly abandoning negotiations with Milan for Gustavo Gomez after the defender demanded more money.

The talks have been dragging on for many months and a breakthrough was expected this summer.

However, TyC Sports in Argentina claim that Gomez requested better personal terms than were being offered to him.

This irritated Boca President Daniel Angelici, who then called off his planned trip to Italy.

The 25-year-old Paraguay international was signed in the summer of 2016 for €8.5m, but made no impact at Milan.

‘Palmeiras don’t want Gomez’

Palmeiras sporting diretor Alexandre Mattos says they pulled out of a move for Gustavo Gomez, as  Milan would only do a permanent deal.

The defender wants to leave the Rossoneri, but has been unable to push through a move to Boca Juniors, and it appears a move to Brazil is also off the table.

“We were offered him,” Mattos told ESPN Brazil.

“His agent called us and asked if we were interested, I asked him what the situation was and he told us that it would have to be a permanent transfer.

Paletta option for Boca Juniors

Gabriel Paletta’s move to Fenerbahce has broken down, so the ex-Milan defender could join Boca Juniors, though Gustavo Gomez is still hopeful.

The Rossoneri terminated their contract with Paletta by mutual consent, allowing him to find a new club without a transfer fee or existing salary.

Paletta had been on the verge of a switch to Fenerbahce, but according to the latest reports from Fanatik, those negotiations have broken down because they were unable to free up a ‘foreign player’ slot in the squad.

Boca end Gomez pursuit

Boca Juniors have officially ended their pursuit of Gustavo Gomez after failing to agree a fee for the Milan defender.

Boca had been heavily linked with Gomez throughout the January transfer window, but the two sides were unable to settle on a price as the Argentines’ Coach was left to rue missing out on a player who would have “raised our level”.

“There’s a market value that can be agreed on,” Guillermo Barros Schelotto was quoted as saying by Gianluca Di Marzio’s website.

Milan set Gomez price?

Milan have reportedly laid out their demands for defender Gustavo Gomez, who is wanted by Boca Juniors.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio’s website, Milan want €7m with a 20 percent sell-on fee for Gomez’s signature or €8.5m outright.

Fortunately for Boca, the Argentine transfer window does not shut until 19:00 GMT on Thursday, meaning they have enough time to strike a deal.

The Paraguayan is surplus to requirements at San Siro, having seen just 10 minutes of action for the Rossoneri this season.
