De Paul ripe for Inter role

Inter are reportedly offering €30m for Rodrigo De Paul, so Ramez Nathan outlines why the Udinese and Argentina talent is worth swooping for.

Destined to shine in Italian football, De Paul's debut for his boyhood club was replacing Juventus legend Mauro Camoranesi.  De Paul spent his youth at Racing Club in Argentina, he made his first appearance for the senior team at the age of 18 with Coach Luis Zubeldía and with his dazzling skills and bag of tricks, he quickly found himself a target for Europe's elite sides after only two seasons with La Academia.

Football Italia spoke with CONCACAF expert Juan G. Arango on the player's time in Argentina and why he left at such a young age.

Higuain: 'Sarri gets best out of me'

Gonzalo Higuain explained why he joined Chelsea after six months at Milan. “Maurizio Sarri knew how to work with me, particularly on the emotional side.”

He completed the transfer this evening, on loan from Juventus for €9m until the end of the season.

There is an option to extend the loan to June 2020 for €18m or to purchase him outright for €36m.

Inter close to De Paul deal

Inter are close to agreeing terms for Udinese attacking midfielder Rodrigo De Paul to join them from June for €30m plus bonuses, claim Sportitalia.

According to transfer pundit Alfredo Pedullà, negotiations reached an advanced stage following today’s meeting.

The Nerazzurri are eager to lock down the Argentina international now in order to avoid competition from Milan, Roma, Napoli and Tottenham Hotspur.

Udinese want €35m for De Paul, while Inter are offering €30m plus performance-related bonuses.

PSG drop Allan for Paredes

There are conflicting reports on Paris Saint-Germain’s interest in Napoli midfielder Allan, as it seems they are signing Leandro Paredes from Zenit instead.

According to TV Luna, PSG have made an offer worth €100m for Brazilian Allan, but Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis will not budge for less than €120m.

However, this evening Paredes left the Zenit hotel at their winter training camp in Doha and headed to the airport.

Maradona: Hope Sala's pilot got lost...

Napoli and Argentina icon Diego Maradona says ‘I hope Emiliano Sala’s pilot got the wrong airport and that he’s found still alive.’

Sala has been missing since Tuesday morning after it emerged Cardiff City’s record signing was on a light aircraft when it lost contact with air traffic control near Alderney in the English Channel and disappeared off radar.

“I hope the pilot got the wrong airport and that he’s found still alive,” Maradona told Argentine journalist Martin Arevalo in a voice clip.

Allan agrees PSG terms?

Allan has reportedly agreed terms with Paris Saint-Germain, who Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis describes as ‘friends’.

According to Il Mattino, Allan has ‘given the go-ahead’ to joining PSG, where he would earn €32m over four years, plus a bonus for winning the Champions League.

It comes after Sky Sport Italia claimed PSG had offered €80m for the Brazilian midfielder, and De Laurentiis was asked about the report.

Napoli €30m or nothing for Fornals

Napoli are interested in Pablo Fornals, but despite Spanish reports, Italian sources insist there will be no discount from the €30m Villarreal release clause.

The story emerged in Mundo Deportivo this evening, suggesting Napoli had agreed a deal for €25m plus bonuses, just under the €30m release clause in his contract.

Rog down to Sevilla details

Marko Rog’s agent will meet Napoli to finalise his transfer to Sevilla, on loan with option to buy for €15m plus bonuses.

According to Spanish newspaper Marca, the Croatia international’s representative Fali Ramadani will work out the details on Wednesday.

Sevilla are expected to sign Rog on loan with option to buy at the end of the season for €15m.

Napoli would also be owed a percentage of any future transfer fee if he leaves Sevilla.

Napoli pay close to €30m Fornals clause?

Napoli have agreed to pay just under the €30m release clause for Villarreal midfielder Pablo Fornals, according to Mundo Deportivo.

He turns 23 next month and already has two senior caps for Spain under his belt.

Fornals would increase the Spanish contingent at the Stadio San Paolo after Raul Albiol, Jose Callejon and summer signing Fabian Ruiz.

Villarreal only signed him from Malaga for €12m in the summer of 2017, but the cost of this operation is believed to be €25m plus bonuses.
