'Maradona selfie-takers will pay dearly', lawyer warns

Diego Maradona’s lawyer Matia Morla has warned the three who took selfies with the Argentine legend’s dead body ‘will pay dearly’.

Three employees from the funeral home took selfies with Maradona’s body and then spread it online. One of them has already been identified and fired from his position.

For the two others, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports it’s only a matter of time. The shots where taken during the transport of the body from where Maradona died to the Presidential palace Casa Rosada in Buenos Aires.

Coppa Italia Round of 16 fixtures

The last 16 of the Coppa Italia have been decided, with Juventus facing Genoa in Turin and Fiorentina host Inter at the Artemio Franchi.

The round of 16 of the Italian Cup was established in the Lega Serie A headquarters in Milan today, as Empoli advanced to face holders Napoli by default, as Brescia didn’t arrive for their scheduled meeting due to coronavirus cases in the team group.

SPAL are the only other side from Serie B still in the competition and will play high-flying Sassuolo in the next round.

Maradona Jr: 'You can't imagine how happy I was with you'

Diego Maradona Jr has published a message to his father, who passed away two days ago. ‘I felt invincible with you by my side’.

Diego Armando Maradona died of a cardiac arrest two days ago, here are the words from his son, who published his message to the Napoli legend on Instagram.

“You can’t imagine how happy I was with you. I felt invincible just by having you by my side,” Diego Maradona Jr wrote in a letter to his father.

Serie A prepare homage to Maradona

Mayor of Naples Luigi De Magistris said Stadio San Paolo will be named after Diego Maradona next week and Serie A prepare ‘homage in the 10th minute’ of Week 9.

Maradona passed away on Wednesday due to a cardiac arrest and Napoli mourned their legend in the home win against HNK Rijeka in the Europa League last night.

Napoli’s historic stadium will now be renamed the Stadio San Paolo-Maradona and the mayor confirmed it will be official next week.

Official: Brescia handed Coppa defeat

Maradona’s son last messages for dead father

Diego Armando Maradona’s son couldn’t travel to Argentina for his father’s funeral as he tested positive for COVID. He instead shared messages on social media to pay tribute to the Napoli legend.

Diego Maradona Junior was born in 1986 but he was only recognized by the former Napoli star in 2007.

Diego Junior couldn’t attend his father’s funeral in Buenos Aires yesterday as he had tested positive for COVID at the beginning of November. Both him and his wife contracted the virus.

Platini ‘could have joined Maradona’s Napoli’

Juventus legend Michel Platini reveals he could have played with Diego Armando Maradona at Napoli but admits only one player was better than him.

Politano: 'Not easy to focus'

Matteo Politano admits it was ‘really not easy’ for Napoli players to focus on the Europa League after Diego Maradona’s death.

The hours leading up to the 2-0 victory over Rijeka were overshadowed by tributes to the club legend, who died on Wednesday evening at the age of 60.
