Inzaghi: 'Together to end Milan crisis'

Destro: ‘Living up to the magic’

Milan's new signing Mattia Destro wants to ‘live up to the magic’ of his chosen shirt number, as he thanks former club Roma.

The 23-year-old completed his move to the Rossoneri earlier today and picked the No 9, previously donned by the likes of George Weah, Marco van Basten and his own new Coach Pippo Inzaghi.

Taking to his official Twitter profile today, the forward said that he understands its significance.

Roma reveal Destro details

Roma have released a statement revealing the details of striker Mattia Destro's loan move to Milan.

The 23-year-old today completed an initial loan switch to the Rossoneri, which was heavily reported to be costing the Milanese a first fee of €700,000, with a purchase option for the summer in excess of €16m.

However, the Giallorossi have communicated the actual figures agreed and reveal a slightly lower initial fee for the loan.

Official: Destro joins Milan

Mattia Destro is officially a Milan player, with the club confirming that the player has joined on loan from Roma with a right to buy.

The forward arrived in Milan last night to undergo a medical and sign his contract, and the Rossoneri have today confirmed that Destro has signed.

“AC Milan announces that it has acquired Mattia Destro from AS Roma on loan with the right of redemption.” the club confirmed on its website.

Destro: ‘My great opportunity’

Milan’s imminent signing Mattia Destro says he ‘can't wait to play’, and affirms that his position will be down to Pippo Inzaghi.

The Roma forward is undergoing medical tests at La Madonnina clinic, where he has added to earlier statements that he was ‘delighted’ to be joining the Rossoneri.

“It was beautiful,” said Destro to MilanNews.it, in reference to the swarming reception of the tifosi at the train station.
