Juve: Chiesa picks up ankle injury

Juventus winger Federico Chiesa reportedly picked up an ankle injury in the first half of the Italian Super Cup Final against Napoli and was replaced with Federico Bernardeschi during the half time break.

Chiesa started in the Juventus’ attacking trident alongside Dejan Kulusevski and Cristiano Ronaldo.

According to Rai Sport, he picked up an ankle injury during the first half and was replaced by Federico Bernardeschi during the break.

Juventus coach Andrea Pirlo reportedly has both Federico Chiesa and Weston McKennie available for the big game against Inter.

Big changes expected from Pirlo in the Coppa Italia

Juventus coach Andrea Pirlo could rotate heavily for the Coppa Italia match against Genoa and rest a host of key players before Inter on Sunday.

Sky Sport Italia reports the Bianconeri coach will decide to rest Leonardo Bonucci and could start with Giorgio Chiellini and Radu Dragusin at the back against the Grifone tomorrow.

Paulo Dybala is expected to remain out of action for 15-20 days following a knee injury, Juventus confirm.

Obiang apologises as Chiesa undergoes medical tests

Federico Chiesa has arrived at the J Medical to undergo medical examinations after a Pedro Obiang tackle last night with the Sassuolo midfielder who has apologised on social media.

Chiesa was practically in tears after a very late Obiang tackle in the first half of Juventus-Sassuolo on Sunday. VAR showed Obiang caught him studs-up on the ankle and was shown a straight red card.

The former West Ham midfielder has apologised on social media.

Federico Chiesa inspired Juventus to a 3-1 win over Milan on Wednesday, but the winger praised the ‘collective’ effort to bring home the three points.

It was not all rosy for the winger, who asked to be substituted after having scored his second goal of the night in the 63rd minute, but the Italy international stressed it’s nothing serious.

“I’m fine, I only had a hip problem, no muscular injury, I’ll recover tomorrow,” Chiesa told Sky Sport Italia.
