PSV return Rodriguez to Milan

Ricardo Rodriguez has returned to Milan after PSV decided against signing the left-back outright.

PSV took Rodriguez on loan in January and reports at the time stated they reserved a €4m option to buy him at the end of the season.

However, he managed just six appearances without any goals or assists as the Eredivisie campaign ended early due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The 27-year-old is now back at Milan, as per Sportitalia, although he cannot take part in the Rossoneri’s remaining Serie A matches this term.

How Atalanta grew with Gosens

One of the secrets to Atalanta’s success this season has been Robin Gosens, as Kaustubh Pandey explains how the wing-back makes the difference.

Thursday's meeting between Atalanta and Napoli was meant to be a battle of the opposites. It involved a team that has been reaping rewards of using pragmatic ways in recent months and one of the most feared sides in Europe because of their ultra-attacking ways. Unsurprisingly Gian Piero Gasperini's men came out on top with a 2-0 victory.

Pozzo: 'Bundesliga return a failure'

Udinese owner Giampaolo Pozzo has accused the Bundesliga of ‘starting off in the worst possible way’ and ‘marketing it as a success’.

The Bundesliga became the first major European league to resume at the weekend, with much of the football world tuning in and upholding the Germans as the example to follow.

However, Pozzo pointed to ‘eight injuries in the first six games’ as a reason why it should not have come back so soon.

Milan look at Marco Rose?

Borussia Monchengladbach boss Marco Rose is reportedly on Milan’s shortlist to take over if Ralf Rangnick or Julian Nagelsmann do not.

Rangnick has yet to decide on whether he will join Milan as their technical director or an English-style manager with full control over coaching and recruitment.

Tuttosport claims they are ‘hopeful’ of the Red Bull chief agreeing to the latter but, in the event he does not, he would be entrusted with sourcing a coach.

'Rangnick right for Milan, but...'

Former Inter and Germany star Andreas Brehme believes Ralf Rangnick is ‘the right man’ for Milan but warns he must learn Italian quickly.

Rangnick seems set to take over at Milan this summer, as a sporting director or manager in the English sense, and Brehme is confident his compatriot will succeed at San Siro.

“A German Milan could work, yes,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I’m a friend of Paolo Maldini, we met at a charity event. I read his latest comments and I’m sorry he finds himself in this situation.

Milan: Rangnick wants Nagelsmann?

Ralf Rangnick will reportedly take a backseat at Milan as he wants the club to appoint RB Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann.

Rangnick had long been expected to take the reins of Milan with complete control, a la Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United.

However, Gazzetta dello Sport writes the 61-year-old is not planning to coach the Rossoneri.

Instead, the newspaper claims he will discuss bringing Nagelsmann to San Siro when he holds ‘face-to-face’ talks with Elliott Management chief Gordon Singer next week.
