Barella committed to Cagliari

Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella insists “I’ve never talked about the market” and hopes to swap shirts with Milan’s Patrick Cutrone this weekend.

Barella was a reported target for the likes of Juventus and Roma before signing a contract extension until 2022 with Cagliari, and the starlet is keen to succeed Gianfranco Zola as football’s next great Sardinian.

“I’ve never talked about the market,” he told Tuttomercatoweb.

Barella to Juve in June?

It is reported that Juventus are interested in signing Cagliari’s Nicolo Barella in June.

The 20-year-old is enjoying an impressive season for the Sardi, having made 19 appearances and contributed two goals so far this term.

According to La Nuova Sardegna, the young midfielder was the subject of a meeting held in Milan between representatives from Cagliari and the Old Lady, as well as the player’s agent Alessandro Beltrami.

Juventus discuss Barella deal

Juventus met with Cagliari and Nicolò Barella’s agent today to discuss a transfer to Turin for the future, working in synergy for with other young players.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Juve discussed the situation with Cagliari directors and Barella’s agent, Stefano Beltrami.

Midfielder Barella turns 21 next month and has already been linked with numerous clubs, including Roma, Inter, Valencia, Manchester United and Sevilla.

Cagliari name Barella price

Cagliari have slapped a €50m price tag on midfielder Nicolo Barella, who has been linked with Inter, Roma and Juventus.

Barella extended his Cagliari contract until 2022 last week, but President Tommaso Giulini confessed he would sell the 20-year-old if the price was right, even if his priority was to keep the player.

“I’ve read everything about his renewal, but we didn’t do it to raise his price,” he told Rai Radio.

Official: Barella commits to Cagliari

Cagliari have announced that midfielder Nicolo Barella has extended his contract with the club until 2022.

Barella had been linked with the likes of Inter, Roma and Juventus, but he has opted to stick with his hometown Cagliari for at least the rest of the season.

The 20-year-old has already played 57 times for the Rossoblu and helped Italy’s Under-20 team finish third at the U-20 World Cup last summer.

Juventus consider Barella

Juventus are reportedly keeping tabs on Nicolo Barella, but Cagliari would demand €30m to sell him.

The Bianconeri are looking to lower the average age of their squad, as well as including more Italians.

Leonardo Spinazzola, Mattia Caldara and Riccardo Orsolini are all on loan at Atalanta, but will move to Turin in the summer, reports Tuttosport.

Orsolini has struggled for playing time this season, so he could return to Turin in January and be sent elsewhere to gain experience.

Report: Roma push for Barella

Roma are reportedly ready to push through a deal for Cagliari and Italy starlet Nicolo Barella.

According to Corriere dello Sport, contact is ‘intensifying’ between Roma and Cagliari for Barella.

The 20-year-old made his top-flight breakthrough last season and recently earned his first-ever Italy call-up for their World Cup qualifiers against FYR Macedonia and Albania.

However, Il Corriere warns the midfielder will not come cheaply as the Sardinians would be holding out for a fee in the region of €20m.
