Pagliuca: 'Barella could be the new Inter captain'

Former Inter goalkeeper Gianluca Pagliuca said Nicolò Barella could be the next captain of the Nerazzurri. ‘I picture him there for many years’.

The Bologna goalkeeping coach played 234 games with the Beneamata between 1994 and 1999 and commented on Beppe Bergomi’s comparison of their team with the Inter of today.

“I heard Bergomi say that this Inter are similar to ours,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “And I think the two teams can be compared.

Barella: 'Valuable point towards Scudetto'

Nicolò Barella saw the 1-1 draw away to Napoli as ‘a valuable point’ for Inter in the Scudetto race.

Christian Eriksen drilled in the equaliser after a bizarre Samir Handanovic own goal, caused by a collision with Stefan de Vrij.

Barella and Traore suspended for one match

The Disciplinary Commission has given one-match bans to Inter midfielder Nicolò Barella and Sassuolo’s Hamed Traore after the recovered games.

Inter hosted Sassuolo at San Siro on Wednesday and the Nerazzurri secured their 10th consecutive win in a 2-1 success to go 11 points clear at the top.

But Barella will miss the next game against his Cagliari this weekend, the club he left for Inter in July 2019.

Barella has played in all 29 Serie A games so far this term and misses his first game this term.

Inter players allowed to join Italy squad

Sky Sport Italia reports Inter players Nicolò Barella, Alessandro Bastoni and Stefano Sensi will be able to join the Italy squad in the event of a negative test.

After the coronavirus outbreak in the Inter squad, players were quarantined but the international stars were allowed to travel back to their respective countries to finish the isolation period.

The ATS of Milan has, according to the broadcaster, given the three Italy internationals in the Nerazzurri squad the go ahead if they are negative to COVID-19.

Nicolò Barella reveals he wears the No.23 shirt 'because of LeBron James' and that both he and Allen Iverson inspired him.
