Boga: 'Ready for a new chapter'

Jeremie Boga admits he is ‘ready for a new chapter, whether in Italy or abroad, but I could remain at Sassuolo too. I have no Chelsea regrets.’

The attacking winger came up through the Chelsea youth academy, but was sold to Sassuolo in 2018 and flourished in Serie A.

“I am ready for a new chapter,” Boga told Telefoot in France.

“I have no regrets, as I made the right decision in leaving Chelsea. I think that was the best choice I could’ve made in the circumstances.”

Cavani quitting PSG early

Edinson Cavani and Thomas Meunier have reportedly played their last games for Paris Saint-Germain, so won’t stay on for the Champions League.

Ending Ligue 1 early due to the COVID-19 pandemic proved to be a rushed decision, but the club still has to prepare for the remaining European fixtures in August.

According to RMC Sport in France, Cavani and Meunier have informed PSG they won’t extend their contracts beyond June 30, so will walk away as free agents without playing in the Champions League.

Gravina: 'No show without the fans'

FIGC chief Gabriele Gravina has called games without fans ‘half a spectacle’ but hinted that Juventus will be awarded the women’s Scudetto.

The Italian campaign restarted with the Coppa Italia final four, which Napoli won on penalties at an empty Olimpico in light of the coronavirus pandemic.

“I have to say that without the fans, it was half a spectacle,” Gravina told La Stampa.

“Stadia will reopen once we are definitively protected from this virus thanks to a vaccine.”

Hamsik: 'Would've loved to play for Rino'

Former Napoli captain Marek Hamsik believes ‘I could’ve been wonderful’ in Gennaro Gattuso’s team of Coppa Italia winners.

Napoli initially struggled for form under Gattuso after he replaced Carlo Ancelotti in December, but they have gone on to lose just one of their last 11 games, among them a penalties victory over Juventus in the Coppa Italia Final.

“There’s a compactness that those who play football perceive instantly,” Hamsik, who now plays in China for Dalian Professional, told Il Mattino.

Ancelotti: 'Napoli fought racism'

Carlo Ancelotti has explained how Napoli fought to ensure Kalidou Koulibaly was not racially abused again. “If you challenge people, things can change.”

The world of football is taking a stand against racism, with players in the Premier League taking a knee before games and wearing ‘Black Lives Matter’ on the back of their shirts.

“Football has an important role to play in educating people,” Ancelotti told The Guardian. “Millions follow footballers, watch what they do, hear what they say.”
