Mazzarri: Napoli face five finals

Walter Mazzarri says Napoli have five finals ahead of them and insists that they will fight for the Scudetto until it is mathematically impossible to win it.

Napoli currently lie second in Serie A with a six-point gap between them and League leaders Milan.

Speaking before Saturday's game against Palermo, Mazzarri said: "We mustn't do any calculation. I have always said that we need to look forward and back.

Reo-Coker 'honoured' by Napoli bid

Nigel Reo-Coker “would certainly be honoured” to join Napoli, said his agent, after links with Galatasaray, Juventus and Roma too.

The 27-year-old is coming to the end of his contract with Aston Villa this summer and it's reported the Partenopei are leaping to the front of the queue.

“The lad's contract will expire on June 30, so we can already start talking to clubs who are interested in signing him,” Tony Finnigan told Radio CRC in Italy.

Mascara: Napoli looking for redemption

Giuseppe Mascara claims Napoli will be looking for redemption when they face Palermo this weekend.

Napoli lost 2-1 to Udinese on Sunday and dropped six points behind League leaders Milan.

Interviewed by Radio Marte, Mascara said: "I am fighting for something important. I am part of an incredible group.

"Unfortunately on Sunday against Udinese we didn't manage to get a positive result, but we tried.

"The season must be faced one game at a time. We are not looking at the others. We are only thinking about ourselves.

Cavani agent worries Napoli fans

Edinson Cavani's agent has refused to reassure Napoli fans over his future. “I don't want to lose my job...”

The striker is hot property on the transfer market and challenging for the Capocannoniere crown.

This week he hinted that he'd love to join Real Madrid so his agent was asked: ‘can Napoli fans feel reassured?'

“I won't answer that. I don't want to lose my job... otherwise you'd have to hire me as a pundit,” Claudio Anellucci told Sky Sport Italia.

De Sanctis hits out at Inler

Napoli goalkeeper Morgan De Sanctis has questioned Udinese midfielder Gokhan Inler's affinity for the club.

Inler scored a screamer against Napoli on Sunday in a 2-1 win for Udinese but refused to celebrate under the pretext that he has friends back in Switzerland who support the club.

At the time, speculation mounted that the real reason why Inler didn't celebrate was because he is joining Napoli this summer.

Interviewed by Il Corriere dello Sport, De Sanctis said: "I was angry with Inler for his powerful and precise shot.

Zamparini happy to see Cavani score

Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini says he is happy to see former player Edinson Cavani score on a prolific basis for Napoli.

Cavani left Palermo last summer after three and a half years in Sicily.

He has scored 25 goals in Serie A for Napoli this season and looks set to challenge Antonio Di Natale to be Capocannoniere.

"Every time that I see him score for Napoli I am happy," Zamparini told Radio Kiss Kiss. "If Napoli managed to keep Maradona in the past I believe that they won't have any problems keeping Cavani."

“We are waiting for a sign from the club. We said we'd meet again with the directors, then nothing else came of it.
