Stadio San Paolo excites Donadel

Marco Donadel has spoken for the first time as a Napoli player after he completed his move to the Azzurri.

"I'm happy to be able to wear the Napoli shirt and to have the opportunity to play at the Stadio San Paolo, an historic and prestigious venue," he stated.

"I can't wait to start this new adventure, to get to know my teammates and to put myself at the disposal of the Coach."

Donadel has signed a four-year contract with the Neapolitan outfit after spending six years at Fiorentina.

Maggio to extend contract

Christian Maggio will soon put pen to paper on a new contract at Napoli, the player's agent believes.

The versatile wing-back has asked to be rewarded with an improved deal after helping the Azzurri qualify for the Champions League.

"I don't think there will be any problems," his representative Massimo Briaschi told Radio Kiss Kiss. "I am speaking to sporting director Riccardo Bigon about it.

"There is a minimal difference between demand and offer. I think everything should be settled pretty soon.

Italian trio track Vidal

Napoli, Genoa and Juventus are taking a close look at Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Arturo Vidal.

The 24-year-old, valued at €15m by his German outfit, has caught the attention of the trio who are all pondering moves for a midfielder this summer.

As it stands, the Azzurri are in pole position for the Chilean international after they admitted their interest.

"I've chosen Vidal," Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis noted. "He's an extraordinary talent and he's at the top of our list.

Napoli give up on Criscito

Napoli won't complete the transfer of Genoa's Domenico Criscito, Azzurri chief Aurelio De Laurentiis has revealed.

The two clubs had reached a deal which would see the Italian move to the San Paolo, but they've been unable to agree personal terms with the player.

"We liked Criscito and we still do, but I have always been sceptical," De Laurentiis told Radio Marte.

Napoli or Udinese for Inler

Udinese have told Gokhan Inler to accept a switch to Napoli or prepare himself for a Stadio Friuli return.

The two clubs have agreed terms over a transfer fee for the midfielder, but Napoli have yet to reach a compromise with his agent.

Inler is understood to be considering his options given an interest from Juventus, but Udinese say they won't do a deal with any other club apart from Napoli.

"I don't know what has occurred," Udinese owner Gianpaolo Pozzo told Radio Kiss Kiss on Thursday.

Denis to stay at Udinese

German Denis will remain at the Stadio Friuli for the 2011-12 campaign, Udinese have confirmed today.

The striker is co-owned by the Bianconeri and Napoli following his Stadio San Paolo exit last August.

"Denis will stay with us at Udinese," patron Gianpaolo Pozzo stated. "We have reached an agreement with Napoli."

Denis, 29, is an Argentine international who scored four goals in 25 League games during the past season.

Napoli confirm Donadel swoop

Juve keep Matri, Quaglia, Pepe & Motta

Juventus have confirmed that Alessandro Matri, Fabio Quagliarella, Simone Pepe and Marco Motta have now been signed outright for a total of €37.25m.

All four players spent this season on loan in Turin with the option to buy on a permanent basis at the end of the campaign.

That right has now been exercised by the Italian giants, who have failed to qualify for Europe next term, at a cost of almost €40m.

Cagliari will receive €15.5m for the services of striker Matri who joined the Turin-based club in January.

Napoli make bid for Dzemaili

Parma have revealed the details of Napoli's bid for Blerim Dzemaili – and it's big, very big.

"Napoli have bid €7m for him, as well as offering Manuele Blasi and a 50 per cent share in Fabiano Santacroce," director general Pietro Leonardi told TMW.

Dzemaili is a central midfielder, formerly of Bolton, who joined Parma in the summer of 2009 from Torino.

Born in April 1986, he's also a full Switzerland international after winning 16 caps at Under-21 level.

'Hamsik worth more than Pato'

Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis commented on Erik Lamela and insisted “Marek Hamsik is worth more than Alexandre Pato.”

There have been continual stories of Milan's links with Hamsik, who many have suggested is the mysterious ‘Mister X' of the summer, especially after Napoli showed an interest in potential replacement Lamela.

“I like Lamela, but only as a future prospect or investment. He is certainly not a priority for right now,” he told Radio Marte.
