Official: Napoli sign Ruiz

Napoli have announced that they have completed the signing of Espanyol centre-back Victor Ruiz.

The 21-year-old centre-back joins on loan until the end of the season.

He will then sign on a permanent basis in June, putting pen to paper on a four-year deal.

Jesus Datolo, the Napoli midfielder who has been on loan with Espanyol, will now sign outright for the Spanish club.

Ruiz was in Italy today to take care of the paperwork.

He will return to Barcelona and hold a Press Conference to bid farewell to Espanyol.

Leo: 'Inter deserved to qualify'

Leonardo feels that Inter deserved to beat Napoli and qualify for the Semi-Finals of the Coppa Italia.

Inter were dominated for large spells and only ended up winning by virtue of a penalty shoot out.

"I am very happy with this performance," Leonardo said. "It was a very balanced game.

"Napoli tried to win with their champions and on their pitch too, but we knew how to suffer.

"We had two clear chances in the first half. If we had scored, the game would have change.

Napoli defeat embitters Mazzarri

Walter Mazzarri hit out at the refereeing of last night's Coppa Italia Quarter-Final against Inter and felt that Napoli were by far the better side.

Despite dominating the tie, Napoli ended up losing 5-4 on penalties at the San Paolo with Ezequiel Lavezzi missing a crucial spot kick.

"Leonardo is a good lad and I respect him," Mazzarri said sarcastically. "Often when you face Inter, their Coach comments on a different match altogether.

Napoli won't win it

Napoli are only four points behind Milan and fans are dreaming of the Scudetto. Serafino Ingardia feels a reality check is required

If movie producer Aurelio De Laurentiis was to turn the story of this Napoli side into a film it would probably be a spaghetti western with Edinson Cavani as the main star on the verge of an impossible mission.

Napoli's season so far has exceeded any possible expectations as the Azzurri currently sit second in the table, only four points behind League leaders Milan. Furthermore, they are the only Italian side still in the Europa League.
