'Insigne ready for Napoli'

Pescara boss Zdenek Zeman insists Lorenzo Insigne is good enough to already be a part of the Napoli squad.

The 20-year-old striker, called up to Italy's Under-21 party, is currently on loan at Pescara from the Stadio San Paolo outfit.

Cannavaro has Scudetto belief

This could be the season for Napoli to win the Italian championship, says club captain Paolo Cannavaro.

The Azzurri are just a point off the top of the table after collecting 10 points from five games – including wins over Milan and Inter.

"Winning the League would be the maximum for us, it couldn't get any better," the central defender told Radio CRC.

Maggio will sign Napoli deal

Christian Maggio is close to signing a new contract with Serie A giants Napoli, his agent has suggested.

The wing-back is only tied to the Stadio San Paolo outfit until June 2013, but it seems as if he'll soon commit his long-term future to the outfit.

Britos frustrated at Napoli success

Napoli defender Miguel Britos has revealed his frustration at seeing his teammates win without him.

The Uruguayan joined the Naples outfit in the summer, but sustained a broken foot in the team's pre-season friendly at Barcelona five weeks ago.

Napoli, meanwhile, have begun the season in strong form and find themselves comfortably in second place in their Champions League group and in joint-third place in Serie A after their weekend 3-0 win at Inter.

Napoli come of age

Debate over the referee rages on, but surely nobody can disagree with Napoli's Scudetto contender status, says Susy Campanale.

The victory at San Siro was a controversial one undoubtedly affected by referee Gianluca Rocchi's mistakes, having incorrectly booked Joel Obi for a clean tackle and then awarded the penalty – with second yellow card – for a foul outside the box. Inter lost their heads at that stage and were torn apart. However, regardless of all that, Napoli still emerged looking like genuine champions.
