Hamsik sale? Not even for €40m!

Napoli chief Aurelio De Laurentiis insists he won't sell Milan target Marek Hamsik this summer.

The rumours of a Rossoneri switch resurfaced this week, but the Azzurri ace will seemingly remain at the Stadio San Paolo.

"He's off the market," the Napoli owner told Radio Marte. "Don't believe the stories that I can sell him for €40m.

"I signed the player to increase his value and I've invested a lot on him. With €40m I would only cover his costs.

Cavani-Man Utd link denied

The representative of Napoli ace Edinson Cavani has dismissed suggestions of interest from Manchester United.

"This is the time of the year when it is normal to hear talk of transfers to big clubs for astronomical fees," Claudio Anellucci told Radio Sportiva on Thursday.

"The majority of the time there is nothing to them, as is the case with regards to a possible move to Manchester United for Edinson."

The Uruguayan international joined Napoli from Palermo last summer in a deal worth €17m in total.

Hamsik would consider move

Napoli ace Marek Hamsik has again failed to rule out a summer exit from the Stadio San Paolo.

The Slovakian gave an interview with the Pravda newspaper earlier this week where he spoke of the possibility of joining Milan.

The Rossoneri and Napoli reacted to that report by insisting no transfer will be done, but Hamsik has added more fuel to the fire this afternoon.

"I've heard that there has been a lot of talk, not all of it true," he told Sky Sport Italia on Thursday.

Knowing when to sell

As Europe's biggest clubs eye up Alexis Sanchez, Javier Pastore and Marek Hamsik, Scott Fleming warns of the dangers of driving too hard a bargain.

Clubs like Udinese, Palermo and Napoli are the foster parents of the Italian game. They search out the youngsters no on else knows or cares about, nurture and develop them, shower them with love and attention, then just as the kids are about to reach maturity and fulfil their potential, they have to let them go.

That's the situation all three clubs find themselves in at present, preparing to cut the apron strings and lose star pupils Alexis Sanchez, Javier Pastore and Marek Hamsik, otherwise known as The Wonder Boy, The Skinny One and Sonic.

Palombo not off to Napoli

Sampdoria have rubbished rumours that Angelo Palombo could be signed by Champions League qualifiers Napoli.

Palombo has been linked with a move away after relegation, but sporting director Pasquale Sensibile insists the player is going nowhere.

"He won't be leaving Genoa," said the official. "We've had some reassuring signs from the player so there is no problem.

"Palombo will stay here and he will continue to be our captain.

De Laurentiis: 'Show me the money'

Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has again reiterated buyers for Marek Hamsik and Ezequiel Lavezzi must splash record-breaking cash.

After Milan pushed to sign Hamsik, now there are reports Manchester City are eager to swoop for Argentina international Lavezzi.

“Once again, I have not received any offers,” De Laurentiis told Radio Marte.

“Everyone has money, but you've got to get it out of your wallet and slap it on the table. Maybe Roberto Mancini is trying to anticipate what the City owners want next.”

Criscito explains Napoli snub

Domenico Criscito has revealed the reasons why he chose to join Zenit rather than hometown club Napoli.

The defender completed his move to Russia yesterday despite the fact that Genoa had previously agreed a deal with the Azzurri.

"It would have been a dream for me to join Napoli," he told Sportitalia. "The San Paolo is one of the few stadiums that excites me.

"However, I didn't like some of the words of President Aurelio De Laurentiis, who said that I must join the club because the Azzurri jersey is a religion.

Rosati to Napoli not complete

Lecce have revealed that Antonio Rosati's move to Champions League qualifiers Napoli has yet to be completed.

Azzurri chief Aurelio De Laurentiis yesterday declared that the goalkeeper had been captured by his club.

"Rosati is not yet a Napoli player," Lecce sporting director Carlo Osti told Radio CRC on Tuesday afternoon.

"There is still no agreement between the two sides and, as far as I know, Napoli haven't agreed terms with the player either.

Napoli invite 'indecent' bids for Hamsik

Napoli have revealed what it would take for someone to buy Marek Hamsik. "An indecent proposal that takes my breath away," said chief Aurelio De Laurentiis.

Hamsik's future is at the centre of mass speculation today after he seemed to open the door to a Milan switch this summer.

"I'm telling the truth when I say that Hamsik is not for sale," De Laurentiis told Marte Sport Live on Tuesday.

"However, when I receive an indecent proposal I'll listen to it, but it has to be the kind of offer that takes my breath away.
