Petagna: ‘Napoli the chance of a lifetime’

Andrea Petagna says he has the ‘chance of a lifetime’ at Napoli and reveals how he managed to lose 10 kilos during the lockdown.

"This is a team of great players. Finally I scored, we brought home these three points that are fundamental and give us strength for the match on Thursday in Europa League,” Petagna told Sky Sport after scoring the winner in Benvento-Napoli.

Gattuso: 'Benevento memory crossed my mind'

Gennaro Gattuso saw some progress from Napoli in a 2-1 win away to Benevento, admitting the ‘thought did cross my mind’ they’d repeat his Milan debut.

Roberto Insigne opened the scoring at the Stadio Vigorito, but Lorenzo Insigne and substitute Andrea Petagna turned it around.

“We tried using Petagna, because he’s not just good at holding up the ball. He only looks slow…” Gattuso told DAZN.

Benevento striker Roberto Insigne says he is ‘sorry’ to have scored his first Serie A goal against his brother Lorenzo.

“I am very, very happy for the goal, but I am sorry to have scored my first one in Serie A against my brother,” he told Dazn after the half time whistle.

Report: Tottenham and Everton in race for Milik

Report: Gattuso close to Napoli contract extension

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Gennaro Gattuso will sign a new contract with Napoli by Christmas.

Gattuso’s current agreement with Napoli expires at the end of the season and according to the report, the 42-year-old will pen a new two-year deal with the San Paolo hierarchy worth €1.9m-a-year.

The two parties have almost reached a total agreement after that Aurelio De Laurentiis agreed to lower a €7m clause which he would have liked to have included in the new contract if the relationship between the parties had been cut short.
