Ranieri’s Leicester lose to Liverpool

Claudio Ranieri’s Leicester City succumbed to their second defeat of the season, going down 4-1 at Liverpool.

The Foxes, who memorably won the Premier League title last term, were second best for long periods against Jurgen Klopp’s side, playing at Anfield for the first time since the redevelopment of the club’s Main Stand.

Goals by Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane put Liverpool two goals up, before Jamie Vardy pulled one back for Ranieri’s team shortly before half time.

Leicester City eye Inler

Claudio Ranieri’s Leicester City have reportedly offered Napoli €4.5m for Gokhan Inler.

Cagliari consider Zola alternatives

Cagliari are considering several different alternatives if they sack Gianfranco Zola, including David Suazo.

According to Sky Sport Italia, club President Tommaso Giulini informed Zola that he is considering other options.

Some fans have called for the return of Zdenek Zeman, who was sacked on December 23 to make way for Zola.

That seems the most likely outcome, especially as he is still being paid his wages.

Other Coaches up for the job include Delio Rossi, Serse Cosmi and Claudio Ranieri.

Ranieri or Zeman for Zola?

Gianfranco Zola is hanging by a thread and Cagliari are reportedly considering Claudio Ranieri or a return for Zdenek Zeman.

The Coach’s position was further weakened after Saturday’s 2-0 defeat to Sampdoria, meaning the team has one point from the last six rounds.

Today Cesena could leapfrog the Sardinians in the table, leaving them in the bottom two.

The most likely outcome would be a return of Zeman, who was sacked to make way for Zola on December 23.
