Official: SPAL sign D'Alessandro

SPAL have officially brought in Marco D’Alessandro from Atalanta, on loan with option to buy that could become an obligation.

The winger came up through the youth academies of both Lazio and Roma before spells with Hellas Verona, Grosseto, Bari, Livorno, Hellas Verona, Cesena, Atalanta and Benevento.

He is now 28 years old and completed the transfer this evening.

It is a loan deal with option to buy at the end of the season, but that becomes an obligation if certain targets and circumstances are achieved.

Castagne rejects Palace?

Timothy Castagne has reportedly shunned a move to Crystal Palace and will instead sign a new contract with Atalanta.

Sportitalia claimed last week that Palace were hoping to use the money from Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s sale to Manchester United on Castagne.

However, Gazzetta dello Sport warns the Belgian is ‘untouchable’ for Atalanta and talks are under way over a new deal.

D'Alessandro: 'Aggressive Udinese'

Official: Atalanta get Ali Adnan

Atalanta have officially confirmed the signing of Ali Adnan, with Marco D’Alessandro moving to Udinese in exchange.

The swap deal was first mooted earlier today, but wasn’t confirmed before the transfer deadline passed.

However, it appears that the clubs did have the paperwork signed before the window closed, as Adnan has now moved to the Orobici.

Atalanta & Udinese set for swap

Atalanta are close to swapping winger Marco D’Alessandro with Udinese left-back Ali Adnan.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio’s website, the exchange deal is in the final stages.

Adnan joined Udinese in the summer of 2015 and has gone on to play 70 times for the Zebrette.

The 24-year-old, who was once labelled the ‘Asian Gareth Bale’, should swap clubs with D’Alessandro, who played 16 times in Serie A for Benevento last season.

Verona close to triple swoop

Verona have confirmed that they are close to a triple swoop of Torino’s Lucas Boye, Bologna’s Bruno Petkovic and Udinese’s Ryder Matos.

Speaking to Sportitalia about Verona’s January deals, sporting director Filippo Fusco explained Boye had the ‘characteristics’ to help the Rossoblu, while the arrivals of fellow forwards Petkovic and Matos were being ‘finalised’.

“Boye is a player that we’re following,” he told Sportitalia.

Verona close on Matos

Verona are close to signing striker Ryder Matos from Udinese, while targeting Bologna’s Bruno Petkovic and Lucas Boye of Torino.

Hellas have recovered from a disastrous start to the season, but remain in the danger zone and need reinforcements.

According to Tuttomercatoweb and Sportitalia, they have practically agreed terms with Udinese to sign Brazilian forward Matos.

Gasperini: ‘No Atalanta sales’

Gian Piero Gasperini is confident Atalanta “won’t let anyone leave between now and June”.

The Orobici beat Empoli tonight to maintain sixth-place in Serie A, and their form has led to interest in the likes of Mattia Caldara, Roberto Gagliardini and Franck Kessié.

“I think we won’t let anyone leave between now and June,” Gasperini told Sky after the final whistle.

Atalanta finally break down Empoli

A last-gasp winner saw Atalanta past Empoli, in a game which the Orobici had completely dominated.

Levan Mchedlidze opened the scoring for the Tuscan side, but substitutes Franck Kessié and Marco D'Alessandro gave the home side a deserved win.
