Ex-Parma defender Mattia Cassani is in talks for a free transfer to Sampdoria.

As the Ducali were declared bankrupt, all their players are now free agents.

According to Sky Sport Italia, right-back Cassani is in advanced negotiations to agree a new contract with Sampdoria.

It would be a return for the 31-year-old, who already played for Samp in 2003 and at their rivals Genoa in 2013.

Bologna eye Cassani, Mirante

Newly-promoted Bologna could pick up free agents Mattia Cassani and Antonio Mirante to bolster their Serie A squad.

The 31-year-old fullback, formerly a Palermo and Fiorentina player, is a free agent following his unfortunate adventure with bankrupt club Parma.

Bologna currently can boast no more than youngsters Ibrahim Mbaye and Adam Masina in that position and could pick up Cassani to inject some experience into their squad.

Parma players 'could pay own costs'

Parma players offered to “pay our own costs to play games,” but only if the employees are protected, while another plan is destined to fail.

FIGC President Carlo Tavecchio said today Parma will play the away game at Genoa, but captain Alessandro Lucarelli told Sky Sport Italia that’s not certain.
