Roma to bring back Massara?

Roma could bring back Ricky Massara from Milan to replace Gianluca Petrachi as their sporting director, it is claimed.

Tuttomercatoweb reports Petrachi and the rest of Roma’s board are fighting for their futures after the club posted huge debts.

His position was considered insecure even before the coronavirus pandemic, owing to his failure to bring down the side’s wage bill sufficiently.

Boban: 'Milan deal with Rangnick in Dec'

Zvonimir Boban is not going quietly, hitting out at the “dictatorship” at Milan and insisting Ivan Gazidis “had closed a deal with Ralf Rangnick in December.”

The Chief Football Officer was fired on Saturday, largely due to the interview he gave with La Gazzetta dello Sport in which he said CEO Gazidis had “gone behind our backs” in contacting Rangnick.

Official: Milan sack Boban, 'back' Pioli

Milan have officially sacked director Zvonimir Boban after his public row with CEO Ivan Gazidis, who in turn reiterated “our full support” for coach Stefano Pioli, despite the Ralf Rangnick revelations.

The situation at Milanello had clearly reached breaking point after Boban spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport, revealing Gazidis had “gone behind our back” by contacting Rangnick for next season.

It was reported Boban had been fired for ‘just cause’ by a letter last night and that was confirmed this evening by a statement.

Gazidis reiterates Milan faith in Pioli

There are reports CEO Ivan Gazidis told Milan players that Zvonimir Boban is out of the club, with Paolo Maldini to follow, while assuring faith in coach Stefano Pioli.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Gazidis spoke to the squad after today’s training session, where for the second day running he was the only club representative at the ground.
