Milan: Torreira 'happy at Arsenal'

Sources close to The Telegraph have told the newspaper that Milan target Lucas Torreira is ‘happy’ at Arsenal and not pushing to leave.

Reports in Italy are widespread that Torreira wants to link back up with new Milan boss Marco Giampaolo, whom he worked with at Sampdoria.

However, The Telegraph cited an unnamed source that described talk of the Uruguayan trying to engineer a transfer as ‘wildly exaggerated’.

Milan: Kabak, Torreira, De Rossi...

Milan will hold more talks for Ozan Kabak, are preparing an assault for Lucas Torreira and could have an advantage for Daniele De Rossi.

Gianluca Di Marzio’s website reports there is distance between Ozan and Milan following their meeting on Monday but that there will be another.

Bayern Munich also remain interested in the Stuttgart defender, who is expected to make a final decision on Friday.

Report: Torreira wants Milan move

Lucas Torreira reportedly wants to be reunited with Marco Giampaolo at Milan, but Arsenal will not lose the midfielder without a fight.

According to Sport Mediaset, Torreira is ready to make an immediate return to Italy, having recently spoke of his problems adapting to England.

The broadcaster explains the Uruguayan would specifically like to link back up with Giampaolo from their time together at Sampdoria.

Milan open Torreira talks with Arsenal

Milan have begun negotiations with Arsenal by offering €38m for Lucas Torreira, claim Italian reports, albeit on a two-year loan with option to buy.

Coach Marco Giampaolo has identified the Uruguay international as the ideal reinforcement, having already worked with him at Sampdoria last season.

Arsenal only purchased the 23-year-old for €23m a year ago, but he has confessed to struggles settling in to English life and football.

Milan to raise Torreira bid

Milan are reportedly preparing a bid of somewhere between €35m-€40m for Lucas Torreira, but Arsenal are holding out for €50m.

According to Tuttosport, Milan owners Elliot Management are prepared to spend between €35m-€40m for the Uruguayan and reunite him with his former Sampdoria Coach Marco Giampaolo, who has taken over from Gennaro Gattuso at San Siro.

However, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the Premier League side want at least €50m for the player they spent €30m on last summer.

Agent: Giampaolo 'special' to Torreira

Lucas Torreira’s agent has seemingly invited Milan to make an offer for the Arsenal midfielder as a call from Marco Giampaolo would be ‘special’.

Torreira has emerged as Milan’s top midfield target in recent days, given they are about to appoint his Sampdoria boss Giampaolo.

“I don’t know anything about the Rossoneri’s interest, no-one’s contacted me,” Pablo Bentancur told Calciomercato.com.

“I learned about this possibility through the Press.”

Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira and his girlfriend are reportedly unhappy with life in England and Milan could possibly take advantage of the situation.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Uruguayan’s partner is from Genoa and would prefer to come back to Italy than to remain in London.

The situation has alerted the attention of Milan, but it would be difficult to convince the Gunners to sell.

Torreira: 'It was better in Italy'

Milan target Lucas Torreira admits “it was better in Italy” after one season at Arsenal. “I don’t think there are many things I enjoy here.”

The midfielder spoke to Ovacion, a sport subsection of newspaper El Pais, ahead of the Copa America.

“I don’t think there are many things I enjoy here in England. I think it was better in Italy. England is a totally different world, it’s a very large country.
