Momentum builds for Torreira-Diawara swap

Reports continue to suggest Roma are close to agreeing a straight swap between Amadou Diawara and Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira.

The rumour has been circulating for a few days now, but Il Romanista claim both clubs have a basic agreement, while the new development is that Torreira also gave the all-clear.

Fiorentina and Torino are also interested in Torreira, but the Uruguay international is leaning towards Roma.

Roma could work out another deal with Arsenal and potentially swap Amadou Diawara for Lucas Torreira.

The Giallorossi, waiting for Dan Friedkin to take over the Presidency after Jim Pallotta, have already signed Chelsea winger Pedro on a free transfer and could enter new negotiations with another Premier League club.

La Gazzetta dello Sport claims Arsenal have targeted Diawara and mention a possible exchange deal including former Sampdoria midfielder Torreira.

Milan and Fiorentina pursue Torreira

Milan and Fiorentina are both being heavily linked with a move for Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira.

He is no stranger to Serie A, having made his mark at Pescara and Sampdoria before the €29m move to London in the summer of 2018.

No longer first choice in the Gunners midfield, the 24-year-old is reportedly eyeing a return to Italy.

According to The Telegraph newspaper, Milan are the favourites to snap up Torreira this summer.

Agent: 'Torreira wants Italy return'

Lucas Torreira’s agent has confirmed that the Arsenal midfielder ‘would love’ to return to Italy after two years away.

Torreira played for Pescara and Sampdoria before his move to Arsenal in the summer of 2018, and the Uruguayan has made no secret of his preference for life on the peninsula.

“Lucas had some differences with his coach and was a bit annoyed about it, but then he bounced back,” Pablo Bentancur told Tuttomercatoweb.

Report: Torreira calls Milan and Napoli

Lucas Torreira wants to leave Arsenal for a return to Serie A, claim reports, with his agent offering him to Milan and Napoli.

According to Calciomercato.com, the 24-year-old Uruguay international is increasingly frustrated with Arsenal and hoping for another experience in Italy.

The Gunners paid €29m to sign him from Sampdoria in the summer of 2018, but he spent most of his career in the Peninsula with Pescara and then Samp.

Napoli looking at Lobotka

Napoli are in negotiations with Celta Vigo for midfielder Stanislav Lobotka, claim multiple sources, with €25m on the table.

The 25-year-old has already been linked with a move to the Stadio San Paolo several times in recent seasons, allegedly recommended by former captain and fellow Slovakian Marek Hamsik.

He only joined Celta Vigo from Nordsjaelland for €5m in the summer of 2017, but his transfer value has sky-rocketed.

There is a release clause in his contract, although it’s not clear if it is worth €35m or €50m.

Torreira main target for Napoli?

Lucas Torreira has reportedly been lined up as Napoli’s main target this winter and might include Sead Kolasinac in a potential deal to convince Arsenal.

The Partenopei have been rumoured to look for a midfielder this winter and the Corriere dello Sport reports that the 23-year-old Gunner could be on his way to the San Paolo.

The newspaper claims that President Aurelio De Laurentiis and coach Gennaro Gattuso have already planned out the strategy to convince the London club to let the Uruguay international leave the Emirates Stadium.

Napoli 'offer €30m for Torreira'

Napoli have reportedly offered to pay Arsenal €30m to bring Lucas Torreira back to Italy this winter.

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, Napoli have offered to give back the same amount  Arsenal invested in Torreira last year.

The newsspaper explains the Partenopei are proposing a €3m loan deal until 2021, with the obligation to cough up €27m for a permanent transfer.

The midfielder, who played 71 Serie A matches for Sampdoria, has struggled to settle in London ever since his €30m move to the Gunners.

Napoli 'on Torreira red alert'

Napoli are reportedly willing to spend €25m on Lucas Torreira if Arsenal refuse to let the midfielder leave on loan.

According to Il Mattino, Napoli are keen to bring in Torreira next month, hoping to capitalise on his uncertain status in North London.

The Uruguayan has started just seven Premier League games this season, and the newspaper claims the Partenopei will ask Arsenal about taking him on loan.

Failing that, it is claimed they would have no qualms paying the €25m the Gunners are demanding for his services.
