‘Napoli and Roma want Torreira’

Lucas Torreira’s agent says Napoli and Roma are both interested in the Sampdoria midfielder, not just Juventus.

The 21-year-old has been heavily linked with the Bianconeri, with some even suggesting a deal has already been arranged for the summer.

“I can also confirm the interest of Napoli and Roma in my client,” Pablo Bentancurt revealed to CalcioNapoli1926.

“We haven’t just scheduled a meeting with Napoli, there are also other clubs.”

Torreira: 'I'll keep growing'

Lucas Torreira assured he is in no rush to leave Sampdoria, despite interest from Inter, Juventus, Atletico Madrid and others.

The Uruguayan midfielder turns 22 next month and his performances in Serie A have attracted transfer speculation.

“I took advantage of the Winter break to come home for a few days. I’m still the same guy I always was, so I love to be surrounded by friends and the people who love me,” Torreira told Ovacion.

Torreira won't commit to Samp

Lucas Torreira says he is only prepare to commit to Sampdoria until the end of the season. “Then we'll see...”

Torreira has reportedly attracted the interest of Serie A's biggest clubs with his performances for Samp this season, and the Uruguayan midfielder seemingly opened the door to an exit in the summer.

“This season has gone well, I scored three goals, including a decisive one against Juventus,” he told Inforio.com.

Ferrero: ‘No-one will leave Sampdoria’

Sampdoria President Massimo Ferrero insists “no-one will leave” in the January transfer window.

The Blucerchiati have a number of saleable assets, in particular Lucas Torreira, but they’ll be holding onto their stars until the end of the season.

“No-one will leave,” Ferrero insisted, speaking to Sky.

“Incoming? We’re not looking for anything and we don’t need anything. The squad is compact, we’ll look at it again in June.

Inter scout Torreira

It’s reported Inter sent scouts to watch Sampdoria beat Spal at the weekend, with Lucas Torreira thought to be the object of their interest.

The Nerazzurri have Financial Fair Play obligations, but they’re still looking to strengthen their squad in the January transfer window.

According to SampdoriaNews, scout Corrado Verdelli was in the Marassi stands on Saturday to watch the Blucerchiati beat Spal.

Tuttomercatoweb speculates that Torreira is the player he was sent to watch, and the Beneamata could even make a move for him in January.

Suarez: Torreira surprised me!

Barcelona star Luis Suarez says he was ‘surprised’ by fellow Uruguayan Lucas Torreira and has tipped the Sampdoria midfielder for a bright future.

Suarez faced Torreira for the first time during Barca’s 3-2 win against Sampdoria for the Gamper Trophy last summer, and the former Liverpool striker confessed he was taken aback by the 21-year-old.

“We played Sampdoria once,” he told Telemundo.

“I was surprised by the young lad who had been in the middle of the park for the whole match.

Sampdoria President Massimo Ferrero warned Lucas Torreira “is worth €50m, while for Dennis Praet they need €30-40m and we don’t intend to sell.”
