Gattuso: Milan preparing for Europe

Gennaro Gattuso insists Milan are preparing ‘with Europe on our minds’ and that Simone Zaza is too similar to Patrick Cutrone.

Speaking at his first Press conference of the new season, Gattuso also touched on a tough 50 days coming into the campaign, Milan new boy Alen Halilovic being used as a central midfielder and who will start in goal after Pepe Reina’s arrival.

“It’s not been an easy 50 days, I can assure you, but I’ve felt much better for the last two days,” began the Coach.

‘I’d play in goal for Gattuso!’

Milan striker Patrick Cutrone admits he would ‘play in goal’ for boss Gennaro Gattuso.

Cutrone broke through as not only one of Serie A’s brightest prospects last season but also one of its most versatile as he was played in a multitude of attacking positions, and the 20-year-old explained it was testament to Gattuso’s man-management.

“I consider myself a normal lad, although I’m a little luckier than some because I’m able to do what I love,” the Coach said at a book presentation on Thursday night.

Milan should stick with Silva

A swap deal between Andre Silva and Radamel Falcao is suggested with Monaco, but Milan should resist, argues Matthew Santangelo.

Since Swedish star Zlatan Ibrahimovic was sold in the summer of 2012 to Paris Saint-Germain, Milan have failed miserably to replace him with a prolific No 9 capable of scoring goals by the handful. From Mario Balotelli to converted winger Jeremy Menez, Carlos Bacca and Nikola Kalinic, it’s quite clear the Rossoneri desperately lack the presence up front their domestic competition luxuriate in.
