Official: Marchisio joins Zenit

Former Juventus star Claudio Marchisio has officially signed a two-year contract for Zenit St Petersburg.

The 32-year-old was a free agent after terminating his contract with the Bianconeri by mutual consent.

Zenit are in the Europa League this season, placed in Group C with FC Kobenhavn, Bordeaux and Slavia Prague.

The Italy international is from Turin and spent practically his entire career with Juventus, coming up through their youth academy and playing for them in Serie B.

He had only a brief one-season loan spell at Empoli in 2007-08.

Marchisio heading for Monaco

Former Juventus legend Claudio Marchisio is reportedly ready to sign for Monaco as a free agent this evening.

The 32-year-old midfielder terminated his contract by mutual consent this week, much to the surprise of many supporters.

Born in Turin and growing up in the Bianconeri youth academy, he spent his entire career at the club save for a 2007-08 season loan at Empoli.

He would not get regular playing time under Max Allegri, so preferred to walk away and continue his career elsewhere.

Giovinco relishing Juve reunion

Sebastian Giovinco has revealed that he is ‘very excited’ for his reunion with Juventus as an MLS All-Star on Thursday.

Giovinco began his career at Juve, playing for the club across two spells, before taking football in North America by storm with Toronto FC.

“I’m very excited to meet again my old friends,” the No 10 told MLS’ official website ahead of the friendly.

“It will be a nice moment to see everybody. We’ll try to have as much fun as possible.

Ronaldo joins Juventus July 30

Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to join up with the Juventus squad on July 30, in the midst of their pre-season tour of the USA.

The Portuguese superstar has joined the Bianconeri on a four-year contract, and will be presented at the Allianz Stadium on Monday.

Given that CR7 was involved in the World Cup though he has been granted extra time off, so he’ll return to his holiday after greeting the fans in Turin.

Marchisio ready to leave Juventus

Claudio Marchisio is ready to leave Juventus and go abroad with proposals from Monaco, America, China, Australia and the United Arab Emirates.

Several sources this evening claim that the midfielder has given up on getting regular playing time under Coach Max Allegri.

He is considering all of these proposals that have come in and would therefore be able to continue his career outside of Italy after a lifetime at his hometown club.

Ex-Italy pair join Benevento

Freshly-relegated Benevento have announced the signings of former Italy internationals Christian Maggio and Antonio Nocerino.

Maggio and Nocerino arrive on free transfers, with the former Napoli right-back and ex-Milan midfielder both penning two-year contracts.

The 36-year-old joined Napoli from Sampdoria in 2008 and went on to make 307 appearances for the Partenopei, as well as picking up 34 caps for Italy.

Nocerino, on the other hand, returns to his homeland after almost two years in MLS with Orlando City.

MLS All-Star team to face Juve

Sebastian Giovinco, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and David Villa are in the MLS All-Star team that will play Juventus in Atlanta on August 1.

The match has been organised at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium as part of the Bianconeri’s 2018 summer tour.

The group of Major League Soccer talent includes two former Juve players, namely Toronto FC striker and ‘Atomic Ant’ Giovinco and new LA Galaxy arrival Ibrahimovic.

Giovinco came through the Juventus academy and ended up with 132 appearances for the club, in which he scored 20 goals.

Nocerino set for Benevento

Veteran midfielder Antonio Nocerino is returning to Italy for Benevento, recently relegated to Serie B, after a spell with Orlando City.

The 33-year-old former Milan and Parma man had gone to MLS in February 2016, but his contract expired in January.

According to Sky Sport Italia, he will have a medical with Benevento over the next couple of days.

It’ll be a one-year contract with option to sign a second.

This represents a double return home for Nocerino, who was born in nearby Naples.

Donadel leaves Montreal Impact

MLS club the Montreal Impact have released midfielder Marco Donadel and could now return to Italy.

The 35-year-old has been in Canada since December 2014, having terminated his Napoli contract by mutual consent.

He had 67 MLS regular season appearances and played in eight MLS Cup Playoff games.

“I want to thank Marco for his contribution to the Montreal Impact, on and off the field,” said Montreal Impact President Joey Saputo in a statement.
