Abate future depends on Conti

Ignazio Abate could leave Milan for LA Galaxy in MLS, but his future depends on Andrea Conti’s recovery from injury.

The right-back has been linked with a move to the U.S, where he’d link up with former teammate Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Today’s Tuttosport reports that the Rossoneri are ready to allow Abate to leave, but first they must evaluate Conti’s condition.

The 24-year-old joined from Atalanta last summer, but two serious injuries limited him to just five appearances in his first season.

Monaco next for Marchisio?

Claudio Marchisio could terminate his contract with Juventus early and sign for AS Monaco, claim La Repubblica.

The midfielder is not part of Max Allegri’s plans, but has spent practically his entire career in the Bianconeri stripes and is hesitant to leave.

Turin is also his hometown, so La Repubblica suggest rather than going to America for an MLS club, the 31-year-old would rather remain closer to home.

Monaco is just across the border and represent a top French club in the Champions League.

Torino 'fake news' on Marchisio

Torino declared the report of an approach for Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio was “fake news of the day.”

The frankly improbable story had been circulating over the last couple of days.

No longer part of Juve’s first team plans, the 32-year-old could terminate his contract by mutual consent and go elsewhere.

Although Monaco, MLS and the Chinese Super League were mentioned as possible options, rumours also emerged that Torino would offer Marchisio a contract.

Marchisio to leave Juventus?

Claudio Marchisio will leave Juventus this summer to secure first team football, according to reports.

The midfielder came up through the Bianconeri youth system, and has spent his entire career with the club save for a loan spell with Empoli in the 2007-08 season.

This season though he made just 15 Serie A appearances, of which nine were starts, and played only 19 minutes in the Champions League.

According to SportMediaset, Principino is not happy with being a bench player, and will seek to leave the Old Lady this summer.

Dzeko to extend with Roma

Roma are reportedly keen to extend Edin Dzeko’s contract by a year, amid interest from MLS side Los Angeles FC.

The Bosnian was Capocannoniere in Serie A last year, and has 24 goals in all competitions this season - including eight in 12 Champions League games.

Though he’s 32 and his contract runs until 2020, the Gazzetta della Sport believes his entourage have floated the idea of extending that by a year.

The idea would be to spread his €4.5m per season contract over three years instead of two, with performance-related bonuses.

Giovinco sent off using VAR

Sebastian Giovinco was controversially sent off for Toronto FC using VAR during a tense 3-2 MLS defeat to New England Revolution.

The incident occurred after Giovinco had converted an 89th-minute penalty and was running back to the centre-circle in order to restart play as soon as possible.

Wilfried Zahibo tried to push the ball out of his hands to delay him, so the Atomic Ant reacted by reaching up and putting a hand on his face.

Referee Mark Geiger viewed it on VAR and gave the Italy international a straight red card.

Report: Marchisio rejects Montreal

Claudio Marchisio has turned down an offer to leave Juventus and play in MLS for Montreal Impact, it’s reported.

The 32-year-old midfielder has spent his whole career at his hometown club, but a lack of playing time has made it increasingly likely he’ll move on in the summer.

Major League Soccer was mentioned many times in the media as an option and Nick De Santis visited Turin for talks representing Montreal Impact.

However, according to Juventus News 24, Marchisio rejected the proposal and does not want to stray too far from Italy.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, LA Galaxy are interested in bringing him to MLS, where he’d link up with former teammate Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Much like Ibra though he wouldn’t be a Designated Player, as all three slots are already occupied by Romain Alessandrini, Giovani dos Santos and Jonathan dos Santos.
