Conte could face trial

Cremona prosecutors have asked that 104 match-fixing suspects be brought to trial, including Italy CT Antonio Conte.

It was revealed last month that the former Juventus Coach had been indicted for alleged sporting fraud, relating to his time in charge of Siena.

Today, it has emerged that the prosecutor, Roberto Di Martino, has requested that Conte stand trial in relation to the Albinoleffe-Siena match on May 29.

CODACONS: ‘Suspend Conte’

The Italian association for the protection of consumer rights has called for Italy CT Antonio Conte to be suspended.

CODACONS, which is linked to CONI, the Italian Olympic Association, has called for the suspension of the Azzurri boss after he was indicted for alleged sporting fraud.

“Being called by the prosecutor should inevitably lead to the precautionary suspension of Antonio Conte from the position of national team Coach,” the organisation said in a statement.

Tavecchio: ‘Conte stays’

FIGC President Carlo Tavecchio insists Antonio Conte will remain as Italy CT - ‘an indictment is not a conviction’.

It was reported this morning that the Azzurri Coach had been indicted for alleged sporting fraud, relating to his time at Siena.

Conte indicted for fraud?

Italy CT Antonio Conte has reportedly been indicted for alleged sporting fraud as part of an ongoing match-fixing investigation. 

Corriere dello Sport has reported that the Azzurri boss has been charged by Cremona prosecutor Roberto di Martino as part of the same investigation that saw him banned for four months in 2012.

Conte decides on Di Biagio

FIGC President Carlo Tavecchio confirmed Antonio Conte must decide if they sack Italy Under-21 Coach Gigi Di Biagio.

The Azzurrini boss is hanging by a thread after crashing out in the group stage of the European Under-21 Championship.

“Will Di Biagio be confirmed? We’ll talk it over with Conte first,” Tavecchio told reporters.

“He is the one responsible for all the levels of the Nazionale, so we await his indications before making a decision.

Allegri: 'Oscar a Juve wildcard'

Giovinco: 'Pirlo, come face us'

Tavecchio: 'Conte till 2018'

FIGC President Carlo Tavecchio assured “we want Antonio Conte to remain” on the Italy bench for the 2018 World Cup.

The Coach signed a two-year deal that will expire after the Euro 2016 tournament in France next summer, but there has been repeated speculation about whether he’ll even get that far.

“He has a contract until the next Euros in France and he will respect it, as the Coach has said many times,” Tavecchio told Sky Sport Italia.
