Italian reports suggest Roberto De Zerbi is looking increasingly likely to leave Brighton in the summer, with clubs like Liverpool and Chelsea interested in securing his services.

The 44-year-old Italian tactician has continued impressing with the Seagulls this term, exciting the fans on the south coast with his thrilling brand of attacking 4-2-3-1 football, a system that produces incredibly high highs like the 4-2 win over Tottenham and low lows like the 4-0 loss to Roma.

Brighton are in a good spot heading into the final months of the season, despite suffering elimination from the Europa League, as they’re in the thick of the fight for European qualification in the Premier League. In the background, De Zerbi has been heavily linked with top clubs around the continent.

La Gazzetta dello Sport details how De Zerbi is looking increasingly on track to leave Brighton at the end of the season, feeling ready to try his hand at one of the top clubs in Europe. A long list are keen on a move, including Liverpool, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Barcelona.

Following the Europa League exit at the hands of Roma, the tactician told reporters in Italian: “Let’s see if we can reach an important goal again, then next year whoever is here will think about how to improve on this season,” seemingly hinting at his departure from the club in the summer.

De Zerbi currently earns a salary of around €5m net per season with Brighton and has a €13m release clause in his contract. Out of respect and appreciation, the Seagulls will not try to force the tactician to stay should top clubs come calling.
