Di Biagio: Belgium 'most complicated'

Luigi Di Biagio is prepared for Italy’s ‘most complicated’ Euro U21 game against Belgium as he puts his faith in Juventus forward Moise Kean.

Italy’s 1-0 defeat to Poland on Wednesday means they must beat Belgium and hope for the best from Spain, potentially having to wait until Monday, if they are to reach the European U21 Championship semi-finals.

Barella: 'Italy boys must be men'

Nicolò Barella urged Italy to “be men against Belgium” and trust Spain to get the necessary result in the European Under-21 Championship.

The Azzurrini beat Spain 3-1 in their opener, but a shock 1-0 defeat to Poland last night means victory over Belgium on Saturday might not be enough to secure qualification for the semi-finals.

Shoulder injury for Orsolini

Bologna winger Riccardo Orsolini is out of Italy’s U21 European Championship clash with Belgium after suffering a shoulder subluxation.

The Azzurrini player came off at half-time during last night’s 1-0 defeat to Poland, but revealed to Sky Sport Italia he’d been playing through the pain.

Azzurrini still offer hope for Italy

Football Italia Chief Correspondent Richard Hall maintains Italy’s U21 future is bright, regardless of their defeat to Poland.

The Stadio Dall’Ara in Bologna had been raucous and in the end infectious for the Azzurrini, as they came from behind to beat a good Spanish team by 3-1 in the first game of the Under-21 European Championship. As they stepped on to the same field to face Poland, they did it with the knowledge that their former opponents had beaten Belgium hours before. This meant that a win would see Italy go through to the next round, so could they do it with the same style?

U21 Euro: Italy must win and wait

Italy must beat Belgium and hope for the best from Spain, potentially having to wait until Monday, if they are to reach the European U21 Championship semi-final.

The Azzurrini beat Spain 3-1, but lost 1-0 to Poland this evening, leaving them on three points with the Spaniards, while the Polish outfit have six.

Now Italy must beat already-eliminated Belgium on Saturday, but that might not be enough.

“It was a difficult, complicated and bitter evening for the result, but we have to concentrate on the final group game,” the Federation chief told Rai Sport.
