Juventus players silent on Sarri

Miralem Pjanic wrote a goodbye message to Juventus, but none of the players have so far said a word about Maurizio Sarri’s dismissal.

The coach was fired this afternoon, a result of last night’s Champions League Round of 16 exit to Olympique Lyonnais.

It was Pjanic’s final game in the Bianconeri jersey ahead of his transfer to Barcelona.

Emre Can: 'Sarri never gave me a chance'

Emre Can complains Maurizio Sarri “never gave me a chance,” but he still doesn’t regret his Juventus experience.

The midfielder left for Borussia Dortmund in January, having been furious at the decision to leave him off Juve’s Champions League squad this season.

“Sarri never gave me a chance, so I went through some really difficult moments,” Emre Can told German newspaper Bild.

“I was an important part of the team the year before, winning the Scudetto and playing well in the Champions League.

Emre Can: 'I left because of Sarri'

Borussia Dortmund midfielder Emre Can has revealed why he left Juventus in the January transfer window. “Maurizio Sarri told me in a 20-second phone call that I wasn’t on the Champions League list.”

The German international had played an integral part in his first season in Turin, making 37 appearances in all competitions.

However Can’s problems started whem Maurizio Sarri took over from Max Allegri last summer.

Emre Can: 'Wanted to be important'

Emre Can has revealed that he rejected Manchester United, left Juventus because of his “mentality” and chose Borussia Dortmund to be “important”.

After 45 games, contributing four goals for the Bianconeri, the 26-year-old ended his stint in Turin after only one and a half season.

The former Liverpool and Juventus midfielder moved back to Germany this winter and has revealed why he chose to move away from the Allianz Stadium.

Juve 'don't need Ramsey and Rabiot'

Pundit Vincenzo D’Amico maintains Juventus should’ve saved the Matthijs de Ligt money and spent it on midfielders. “They don’t need Aaron Ramsey or Adrien Rabiot.”

After Emre Can departed for Borussia Dortmund, another paid of Bianconeri free agents have been blamed for failing to make an impact in Turin.

“Rabiot and Ramsey are players they simply did not need,” former player and current TV pundit D’Amico told TMW Radio.

Official: Borussia Dortmund buy Can

Borussia Dortmund announced they have activated the purchase option on Emre Can and made the transfer from Juventus permanent.

The midfielder had moved on loan until June 2020 for €1m with an option to buy for €25m, which would become obligatory under certain circumstances.

It was never confirmed what those circumstances were, but Borussia Dortmund seem to have either reached it or chosen to activate the option early.

Juve ready to sell Ramsey?

Tuttosport claims Juventus are already planning to sell Aaron Ramsey, just a year after he was snapped up as a free agent from Arsenal.

The 29-year-old midfielder has made 19 competitive appearances in a Bianconeri jersey this season, scoring two goals.

However, he has continued to struggle with muscular problems, as injuries blighted the Wales international’s career.

Although Ramsey was technically a free agent, Juventus still had to pay €3.6m in commission to his agents.

Chiellini back in Champions squad

Juventus have named their squad list for the Champions League knockout phase, including Giorgio Chiellini.

The Bianconeri will face Olympique Lyonnais in the Round of 16, with the first leg on February 26.

Emre Can had been left out of the original list, which prompted his January exit to Borussia Dortmund.

Merih Demiral has now been removed, as he is out injured for the rest of the season, but Chiellini takes his place, hoping to recover from ACL surgery next month.
