Mancini praises Ronaldo bravery

Italy CT Roberto Mancini believes Cristiano Ronaldo’s willingness to ‘reopen himself to criticism’ via his move to Juventus should be ‘appreciated’.

Ronaldo’s transfer to Juve from Real Madrid comes despite him turning 33 earlier in the year, and Mancini feels the Portuguese must be commended for his bravery.

“Di Biagio my successor in the national team? We haven’t even started yet,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

Totti: Had to sell Alisson, CR7…

Francesco Totti admits Roma ‘couldn’t say no’ to selling Alisson for €75m and ‘hopes Cristiano Ronaldo does well’ for Juventus.

Accusations that Roma were a ‘selling club’ resurfaced after Alisson joined Liverpool, albeit for a world-record fee, while some believe Ronaldo’s arrival at Juve will only widen the gap between the Bianconeri and the likes of Roma.

“We’re building a young team for the future,” Totti told Sky Sport Italia after his side’s 1-1 draw with Avellino on Friday.

Sampdoria meet for Pjaca

Sampdoria and Juventus are reportedly meeting in Milan to discuss a potential deal for Marko Pjaca.

The Croatian winger joined the Bianconeri in the summer of 2016, but a serious knee injury limited his impact in Turin.

It appeared that Fiorentina were close to signing him, but they were only offering a loan with option to buy while Juve wanted an outright sale or at least an obligation to buy.

While Valencia and West Ham were said to be interested, Sky Italia is now reporting that talks are underway with Sampdoria in a Milan hotel.

Now Sky Italia is reporting there’s a done deal with Genoa, for what will be a permanent transfer with a buyback clause.
