Who will Finish as Serie A Top Goalscorer?

The Serie A title race may be going as predicted, but the fight for the Capocannoniere crown is far more unpredictable.

After the first seven games in Serie A, everything is proceeding as predicted as far as the table is concerned. Juventus have played eight and won eight, have a 13+ goal difference, and has already opened up a six-point gap over Napoli in second place.

However, what isn’t quite going according to the script is the leading goalscorer. Cristiano Ronaldo has long been the odds-on favourite with punters who like to bet on football sites, but at this early stage of the season, he is a little off the pace.

Agent: ‘Juventus, Inter wanted Han’

The agent of North Korean striker Han Kwang-song confirms “there were several clubs interested” in his client in January, including Juventus and Inter.

The 20-year-old spent the first half of last season on loan at Perugia, with his seven goals in 17 games convincing Cagliari to recall him.

There was then speculation that he’d sign for Juve and be loaned back to Sardinia, but that move never materialised and he’s now back on loan in Serie B with the Grifone.

Juventus buy out Bentancur clause?

Juventus will reportedly look to buy out Boca Juniors’ resale clause on Rodrigo Bentancur.

The Bianconeri took out an option on the Uruguayan midfielder when they allowed Carlos Tevez to return to the Xeneizes.

In April 2017 it was confirmed they had signed him for €9.5m, but Boca will receive 50 per cent of any future transfer fee.

Bentancur is seen as a rising star for the Old Lady, and today’s Corriere di Torino reports that Juve want to remove that clause.

Allegri targets Capello record

Massimo Allegri wants Juventus to follow in the footsteps of Fabio Capello’s Milan with a record start.

Allegri’s men have won all of their opening 10 competitive fixtures and now sit just three short of equalling the record set by Fabio Capello’s Milan way back in 1992, when the Rossoneri won their first 13 encounters.

“As a young man I liked winning Coaches, like Capello”, Allegri told Corriere dello Sport. “We want to become the number one.”

Rabiot to remain at PSG?

Juventus, Milan, Inter and Roma transfer target Adrien Rabiot is reportedly leaning towards a new contract at Paris Saint-Germain.

The France international midfielder has long been on the radar of numerous Serie A sides, along with Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, Barcelona and Real Madrid.

That is largely because of a contract dispute, as he’ll be a free agent at the end of the season.

However, according to L’Equipe newspaper, Rabiot is now seriously considering a new deal to remain at PSG.

Mertens: 'Juve unconvincing'

Dries Mertens insists Napoli are still in for the Scudetto, as “Juventus haven’t entirely convinced me yet,” discusses his future and missing Maurizio Sarri.

The Partenopei are already six points adrift of the leaders after losing the head-to-head in Turin 2-1, despite having taken the lead with Mertens.

“It was a very unlucky game, but Napoli proved we are up there this season. We fought hard and went for the victory, showing no fear,” the Belgian told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
