Molinaro continues with Venezia

Former Juventus and VfB Stuttgart defender Cristian Molinaro has signed a new contract at the age of 37 with Serie B side Venezia.

The centre-back had already played for Venezia last season, managing 12 appearances after joining as a free agent in January, and had been expected to retire this summer.

Instead, he has signed a new contract to June 2021, with an option to extend to June 2022.

Molinaro is most famous for his time at Juventus, but also played for Stuttgart, Parma, Torino, Frosinone, Siena and Salernitana.

McKennie: 'Juve didn't need to convince me'

USA international Weston McKennie said it’s ‘a great honour to be the first American’ at Juventus and thinks he can help Andrea Pirlo in the ‘recovery of possession’ this season.

The 22-year-old central midfielder, capped 19 times by USA, was presented at a press conference and revealed his dream ‘has become reality’ after signing with the Old Lady.

Bernardeschi out for at least a month

There are reports Juventus forward Federico Bernardeschi will be out of action for at least a month after his injury on international duty.

The player pulled out of the Italy camp for the Nations League games against Bosnia-Herzegovina and the Netherlands after a muscular problem.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport and Sky Sport Italia, further tests have now shown Bernardeschi will be out of action for at least a month.

Reports: Suarez all set for Juventus

There are growing reports in Spain and Italy that Juventus have agreed terms with both Barcelona and Luis Suarez, so the transfer is imminent.

The striker has accepted a contract with the Bianconeri, a two-year deal with option for a third at €10m net per season.

According to Goal.com, Tuttomercatoweb and others, Barcelona are ready to let Suarez go without a transfer fee.

Juve will therefore only pay a nominal compensation fee of circa €1.5m, similar to the agreement Barca reached with Sevilla for Ivan Rakitic.

Suarez to take Italian passport test

Luis Suarez will have his Italian language test in Barcelona tomorrow, according to reports, as he continues to gear up for his Juventus move.

The Uruguay international needs an Italian passport so as not to take up a non-EU spot in the squad.

He is in a position to get the passport because his wife has Italian ancestors, but first he must pass an Italian language test.

Mundo Deportivo claim that will be taken at the Italian Consulate in Barcelona on Monday.

Allegri approached for Netherlands job?

According to Sky Sport Italia, Max Allegri was approached to take the Netherlands job, but is holding out for a club position.

The Dutch side is due to face Italy in the Nations League on Monday evening in Amsterdam.

They are operating under interim manager Dwight Lodeweges after coach Ronald Koeman left to take on the Barcelona job.

The favourite to lead Holland is Henk ten Cate, but Sky Sport Italia report that Allegri had been initially approached.

No fans in stadiums until October

A new Government decree will reportedly ban supporters from entering football stadiums until at least September 30 due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Napoli, Parma, Sampdoria and others have managed to play friendlies with up to 1,000 people in the stands, using social distancing and masks.

Juventus also sent out a dossier via the Regional assembly of Piedmont highlighting a method for getting fans safely back into the Allianz Juventus Stadium in Turin for the opening game of the season with Sampdoria.

Kulusevski sparks Sweden controversy

Juventus attacking midfielder Dejan Kulusevski is causing controversy in Sweden, with Milan star Zlatan Ibrahimovic piling in. ‘It’s an absolute joke.’

The 20-year-old former Parma and Atalanta talent was expected to be in the starting XI when Sweden hosted France in the opening Nations League match last night.

However, he was benched and only came on for the final 20 minutes of a disappointing 1-0 home defeat.

“I think it was strange, but I had to respect the decision,” Kulusevski told reporters after the game.
