Moratti: ‘I don’t fear Juventus treble’

Former Inter President Massimo Moratti doesn’t fear the potential of a Juventus treble - “records are made to be beaten or equalled”.

The Nerazzurri won the Scudetto, the Coppa Italia and the Champions League in 2010, the first and so far only Italian club to achieve that feat.

Juve have gone close on two occasions, doing the domestic double in 2015 and 2017 before losing in the Champions League final.

‘Fixtures not helping Udinese’

Udinese Coach Julio Velazquez points out “the fixture list has not been kind to us” as they prepare to face Napoli after the international break.

The Zebrette have lost their last three matches in a row, but two of those were home matches against Lazio and Juventus.

“We did our best, but unfortunately we couldn’t stop Juventus,” Velazquez told Sky.

“They practically have two first teams in one squad, as well as a player like [Cristiano] Ronaldo who can help them win the Champions League too.

Benatia: ‘Juventus have two teams’

Medhi Benatia confirms “it’s disappointing” to be left out in certain games but “here at Juventus we have two teams of the same level”.

The Moroccan international has made only three appearances in the Bianconeri’s 10 games so far this season, as he competes with Giorgio Chiellini, Leonardo Bonucci, Andrea Barzagli and Daniele Rugani for a place.

“I’m playing a little less than last year,” Benatia acknowledged in an interview with Juventus TV.

Ceferin: ‘Super League out of the question’

UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin says a European Super League is “out of the question” in a debate with Juventus President Andrea Agnelli.

The pair were present at the Festival of Sport in Trento today, and both took part in the same event.

Agnelli is head of the European Club Association, and there has long been talk of the continent’s biggest clubs forming their own competition to be played at weekends, with league matches in midweek.

Agnelli: ‘VAR must be consistent’

Juventus President Andrea Agnelli warns “we can’t go back” on VAR, but wants to “align the rules between European countries”.

Serie A introduced Video Assistant Referees at the start of last season, along with the Bundesliga, and it has since been introduced in Ligue 1, La Liga and the Czech First League, among others.

However, there is currently no standard procedure for video replays and the protocol can vary across different countries.

Agnelli: Ronaldo a superhero

Andrea Agnelli has leapt to Cristiano Ronaldo’s defence, hailing the Juventus forward as a ‘superhero for children around the world’.

Ronaldo’s reputation has been brought into disrepute after allegations of rape, but Agnelli made it clear Juve’s opinion of the No 7 remained intact.

“It was the first time that the two souls of the club merged for the investment of a single player,” he said from the Festival of Sport in Trento.

Tevez: Golf over football

Former Juventus and Argentina star Carlos Tevez admits ‘I don’t like football’ and would ‘watch golf’ over the Clasico.

Tevez will retire from football at the end of next year, when his Boca Juniors contract expires, and is currently working on a TV series, documenting his difficult upbringing in Buenos Aires.

“Do I watch football? No, never. I don’t like football,” the veteran forward told Clarin.

Bonucci backs Milan for derby

Leonardo Bonucci says he is ‘backing’ Milan to win next week’s Derby della Madonnina against Inter.

Bonucci only lasted a season at Milan as he re-joined Juventus over the summer, but the defender made it clear he valued his spell with the Rossoneri more than his stint as an Inter youth player.

“I hope to see a great game, but I’m backing Milan,” he continued at a Press conference for Italy’s Nations League match against Poland on Sunday.

“I left behind a good bunch of lads and a great Coach.”

Bonucci: Nothing has changed!

Leonardo Bonucci claims ‘nothing has changed’ since Italy’s failure to qualify for the 2018 World Cup.

Roberto Mancini has replaced Giampaolo Ventura as Italy’s CT, yet the FIGC remains without a permanent President and has been run by a commissionership since February.

“I like winning, but losing gives me sour grapes. I’ve felt good since re-joining Juve, but more substance is needed here,” Bonucci said at a Press conference for Sunday’s Nations League clash with Poland.
