Juventus to tempt Di Natale again

Juventus will try and tempt Antonio Di Natale away from Udinese again, according to Il Corriere dello Sport, although his agent has rejected the idea.

Last year's Capocannoniere turned down the Old Lady in the summer, underlining his commitment to the Friulian club.

Earlier this week, Juventus general manager Beppe Marotta revealed his intention to find a substitute for Fabio Quagliarella in light of his season-ending knee injury.

Back in June, Juventus had agreed a transfer with Udinese, which was said to be worth €5.5m for Di Natale.

Amauri open to Palermo comeback

Both Juventus forward Amauri and Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini open the door for his return to Sicily. “I'd take him back straight away.”

The striker has struggled to find form since moving to Juve and is reportedly on the market following the arrival of Luca Toni.

“A return to Palermo? Never say never, as anything is possible in football,” said Amauri on Stadionews.

Line-ups: Buffon starts for Juve

Gianluigi Buffon makes his comeback after six months as Juventus field Alex Del Piero and Luca Toni against Catania in the Coppa Italia.

Buffon has not played since aggravating a back injury during the World Cup in June, prompting him to have surgery.

The goalkeeper is in the starting XI of tonight's Coppa Italia Fifth Round match, where Gigi Del Neri is taking no chances with a full-strength squad.

Following his snub in Naples and the fact Amauri fractured his nose, Del Piero is thrown back into the fray alongside new signing Toni.

Coppa: Juve qualify, but lose Toni

Milos Krasic and Simone Pepe beat Catania 2-0, but as Juventus welcome back Gigi Buffon, they lose Luca Toni to injury.

The goalkeeper hadn't played an official match since the 2010 World Cup tie against Paraguay on June 14, as back surgery kept him out for seven months. Alessandro Del Piero also returned after his controversial benching against Napoli to partner new arrival Toni.

Catania had the first chance after four minutes when a corner was not cleared and the Gennaro Delvecchio free header was over the bar.

Toni knee sprain rocks Juventus

Luca Toni could be out for several weeks, as Juventus confirmed he has sprained his right knee.

The striker only joined from Genoa last Friday and made his debut in the 3-0 defeat to Napoli.

He limped off just 15 minutes into tonight's 2-0 Coppa Italia victory over Catania at the Stadio Olimpico.

The official Juventus website has confirmed Toni “sprained the medial section of his right knee.

“Tomorrow he will undergo further tests.”

Buffon thanks Bianconeri fans

Gianluigi Buffon thanked “the fans from the bottom of my heart” on his Juventus comeback after seven months.

The goalkeeper had been out of action with a back injury since the World Cup game with Paraguay on June 14 and last played for the Bianconeri on May 15.

“It was a very nice feeling to be back!” he grinned after the 2-0 Coppa Italia win over Catania.

Report: Juventus open talks for Forlan

Juventus have opened talks to sign Diego Forlan from Atletico Madrid, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Old Lady is in the market for a striker, preferably one who can play just off a target man, much like Fabio Quagliarella was doing until he suffered a season-ending knee injury.

La Gazzetta understands that Juventus have initially asked if they can loan Forlan for the rest of the season.

Report: Juve agree deal for Barzagli

There is mounting speculation that Juventus have agreed a deal to sign Wolfsburg centre-back Andrea Barzagli.

The 29-year-old World Cup winner is out of contract in the summer and has turned down other more lucrative moves in Germany to return to Italy.

Reports suggest Barzagli has agreed a three-year deal with Juventus, accepting a pay cut, although with the incentive of a number of bonuses.

Juventus general manager Beppe Marotta apparently used the same ploy to entice Luca Toni to Turin even if his guaranteed take home pay was greater at Genoa.

Barzagli: 'Juventus talks are on'

Wolfsburg defender Andrea Barzagli has confirmed “the two clubs are talking” over his move to Juventus.

There are reports the Italy international has already agreed a deal for his transfer to Turin, but he insists those claims are premature.

“Juve are certainly an interesting option and I am pleased to see their interest in me,” Barzagli told Sky Sport Italia.

“I don't know anything about the details of the negotiations, but the two clubs are talking and then we'll see what happens.”
