Del Neri: 'We couldn't change game'

Gigi Del Neri insists “with the men at our disposal, we could not change the match” after another Juventus home defeat.

The Bianconeri had taken the lead through Claudio Marchisio, but Cristian Zapata and Alexis Sanchez secured a 2-1 Udinese victory.

“With a little more care we could've avoided the goals, but with the men at our disposal, we could not change the match,” shrugged Del Neri.

Marotta: 'Amauri turned down offers'

Amauri has turned down several transfer requests and “wants to stay at Juventus,” revealed director general Beppe Marotta.

The situation in Turin is increasingly tense and there were strong reports the Bianconeri wanted to sell their Brazilian during the transfer window.

“We received several proposals and passed them on to him, but today he told us that he wants to stay at Juventus,” revealed Marotta.

“When faced with a firm decision like that, we cannot help but accept it.”

Barzagli: 'Del Neri called me to Juve'

Andrea Barzagli is over the moon after joining Juventus for his third reunion with Gigi Del Neri. “I have arrived at a great club.”

Coach Del Neri specifically requested 2006 World Cup winner Barzagli, who had already worked with him at Chievo and Palermo.

“I spoke to Del Neri and he seemed very determined, maybe even more than in the past,” smiled the ex-Wolfsburg centre-back.

“I have arrived at a great club, the biggest I have ever played for, and am here to give my contribution.

Lippi, Cannavaro, Spalletti for Juve?

Tuttosport newspaper claims Juventus will be radically revamped with Marcello Lippi, Fabio Cannavaro and Luciano Spalletti running the side.

It looks like the Bianconeri will end the season empty-handed again after crashing out of the Europa League and Coppa Italia.

Thoughts are already going to next season in the Italian media and Turin-based Tuttosport unveils an outlandish plan to revamp the club.

Former Juve and Italy Coach Lippi has been linked with a directorial role in the past, so this could be the right time for him to come in.

Del Neri: 'Juve are not in free-fall'

Gigi Del Neri insists Juventus “are not in free-fall. We're still on track for our planned objectives.”

Their chances of achieving any silverware this season are extremely slim after elimination from the Europa League and Coppa Italia.

“From the outside, people see the glass half-empty. From the inside, we consider it to be half-full,” assured the Coach ahead of Sunday's clash with on-form Udinese.

Del Neri hands it to Roma

Gigi Del Neri has admitted that Roma deserved to beat his Juventus side in the Coppa Italia last night.

Despite having the home advantage, the Old Lady struggled to break down a capital outfit who qualified for the semi-finals with a 2-0 victory in Turin.

"It was complicated," the Juve boss noted. "We found a Roma side who were very motivated, very alert, who played an excellent game.

Del Piero rues Coppa exit

Regret will be haunting Juventus this morning after last night's Coppa Italia defeat, Alessandro Del Piero has intimated.

The Old Lady were knocked out of the competition on Thursday when Roma arrived in town and took home a 2-0 victory.

"We are obviously upset and we leave this match hugely disappointed," Del Piero noted. "We played at home and it was a good opportunity to go through to the next round, but we didn't take it."

Mazzone snubs Napoli and Juve

Veteran Italian tactician Carlo Mazzone insists only three sides are in the Scudetto race – and they don't include Napoli and Juventus.

Klose, Cisse and Samaras for Juve

Whilst Inter tie up a deal for Giampaolo Pazzini, Juventus are being linked with the likes of Djibril Cisse, Giorgios Samaras and Miroslav Klose.

The Old Lady is in the market for a target man after growing frustrated with Amauri's inability to pose a goalscoring threat up front.

Il Corriere dello Sport understands Juventus are thinking about the prospect of bringing in Cisse on loan from Panathinaikos.

Contact with Sevilla regarding Luis Fabiano has so far proven fruitless, prompting Juventus general manager Beppe Marotta to cast his net wider.

Chiellini kicks off at Mexes

Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini believes his side should've had a penalty against Roma last night and that Philippe Mexes deserved a red card.

Mexes brought down Alessandro Del Piero in Roma's penalty area late in the second half prompting Juventus to cry foul.

Juventus lost 2-0 and were knocked out of the Coppa Italia at the Quarter-Final stage.

They now only have the Scudetto to play for but remain nine points adrift of League leaders Milan.

"I am disappointed to go out of the Coppa Italia," Chiellini said.
