Coppa Italia referees appointed

Paolo Valeri will oversee Milan-Torino in Coppa Italia tomorrow, while Daniele Chiffi has been appointed for Juventus-Genoa on Wednesday.

The AIA has announced the referess for the last-16 stage of the Coppa Italia that will take place this coming Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Rovella has Juventus medical

It was a busy morning at the J Medical as Genoa midfielder Nicolò Rovella has also arrived to undergo his Juventus medical.

Rovella is set to join the Old Lady in a swap deal with Manolo Portanova and Elia Petrelli.

Obiang apologises as Chiesa undergoes medical tests

Federico Chiesa has arrived at the J Medical to undergo medical examinations after a Pedro Obiang tackle last night with the Sassuolo midfielder who has apologised on social media.

Chiesa was practically in tears after a very late Obiang tackle in the first half of Juventus-Sassuolo on Sunday. VAR showed Obiang caught him studs-up on the ankle and was shown a straight red card.

The former West Ham midfielder has apologised on social media.

Juve vs. Milan for Scamacca?

Juventus are reportedly pushing for a deal with Sassuolo over loanee Gianluca Scamacca, but Milan are also in talks with the player’s entourage.

The Bianconeri are struggling to execute plan A involving Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik and Tuttosport reveals the directors spoke with the Neroverdi after last night’s 3-1 win in Serie A.

“Scamacca? We’ll talk about that later. Let’s see what Juventus will tell us,” Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali told Sky Sport Italia last night.

Ref watch: Inter deserved a penalty

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter should have been awarded a penalty for a Roger Ibanez foul on Lautaro Martinez in the second half of Roma-Inter, while Pedro Obiang’s red card in Juve-Sassuolo was correct.

The former West Ham midfielder was sent off after an on-field VAR review in the first half of Juventus-Sassuolo for a reckless tackle on Federico Chiesa.
According to each one of the three Italian sports papers, the decision of Davide Massa was correct.

Injured Dybala and McKennie undergo medical tests

Weston McKennie and Paulo Dybala have arrived at the J Medical to determine the extent of their injuries.

The Argentinean striker has suffered a slight knee sprain while the former Schalke 04 midfielder is feared to have suffered a muscular injury while attempting a sombrero on the edge of Sassuolo’s box on Sunday.

Both McKennie and Dybala arrived at the J Medical in the morning to assess their physical conditions.

Video: Dabo arrives for Juventus medical

Abdoulaye Dabo is undergoing medical tests with Juventus ahead of his loan move from Nantes.

The 19-year-old has arrived at the J Medical in the morning and has just begun medical examinations prior to signing his contract with the Serie A giants.

According to reports in Italy, Dabo will join the Serie A giants on loan with option to buy.

His contract with the Ligue 1 side is due to expire in June 2022.

Dabo is expected to initially join Juventus’ Under 23 team.

Ronaldo equals Bican's goal record

Cristiano Ronaldo has equalised Josef Bican’s record for goals scored for club and country.

The Juventus striker scored his 759th career goal in the final minutes of Juventus-Sassuolo on Sunday and needs one more to become the best goal scorer in the history of football.

Bican, was a Czech striker who played, among others, with Rapid Wien, Admira, Slavia Prague and Dynamo Prague between 1931 and 1955.

Danilo unleashed a rocket before Aaron Ramsey and Cristiano Ronaldo finally broke 10-man Sassuolo in a hard-fought game.

Pedro Obiang saw red approaching half-time for his studs-up tackle on Federico Chiesa’s ankle.

It took a ferocious strike from Danilo to break the deadlock, but Gregoire Defrel and his team would not give up, grabbing a deserved equaliser.

Sassuolo even tried to win it, but Ramsey met a Gianluca Frabotta ball rolled across the six-yard box.
