Messi moving on in 2021?

Lionel Messi could reportedly leave Barcelona in 2021, as he allegedly stopped the contract negotiations with the Blaugrana.

The Serie A giants have followed his situation in Catalonia for years and earlier this season Inter were being urged by their former President to try once more for the Barca talisman.

The Argentine seemed set to renew his current deal until June 2023, but Spanish outlet Cadena Ser claims the striker has paused his negotiations with the club.

UEFA: 'Decision on fans soon'

UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin says a decision should be made on fans’ attendance at Champions League and Europa League games by ‘July 10’.

The two tournaments are set to adopt a Final Eight format in Portugal and Germany respectively, with games to be played behind closed doors as it stands.

However, according to Ceferin, that could change before the draws for those fixtures take place next Friday.

Buffon: 'Fire still burning'

Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has assured that ‘the fire is still burning inside of me. It’s as if I’m reliving my youth’.

Buffon recently extended his contract by a further year and is set to become Serie A’s record appearance holder when Juve face Torino in the Derby della Mole on Saturday.

“I still have the fire burning inside of me,” the 41-year-old told Randstad Italia on Instagram.

“I keep playing because I feel good and I’m competitive, plus I always want to improve.

Reports: Juve push for Pinamonti

Reports this afternoon claim Juventus are pushing hard to sign Genoa striker Andrea Pinamonti and Roma full-back Riccardo Calafiori.

Genoa bought Pinamonti €18m in February, but Inter have first option on the 21-year-old.

Despite that, Tuttosport and Alfredo Pedulla state Juve are ready to dive in, already holding talks with his agent Mino Raiola.

He supported his case for a move to Juve with his first goal in eight months on Tuesday, which came in a 3-1 defeat to the Old Lady.

De Ligt: 'In a much better place'

Matthijs de Ligt says he is now in ‘a much better place mentally’ and that Juventus are in a three-horse race for the Scudetto with Lazio and Inter.

De Ligt was criticised for his early performances in a Juve shirt, but the defender has gone on to more than hold his own alongside Leonardo Bonucci in Giorgio Chiellini’s absence.

“I feel much better physically, but mentally I’m in a much better place and this is crucial for things to go well,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

Conte v decades of Crazy Inter

Antonio Conte’s toughest job was always going to be changing the ‘Pazza Inter’ mentality, but Richard Hall explains why he’s not quite there yet…

The only thing ‘Pazza’ about Inter last night was that they were ‘crazy good’. In a night when Inter played as Antonio Conte intends them to, they swept aside a hapless Brescia side 6-0. The result showed that even with extreme rotation, the squad should have what it takes to push Juventus and Lazio all the way, but the key is always consistency. The coach will have to achieve this if he is to convince the fans that the culture of imploding has gone for good. Already, since football returned, Inter have shown signs it has not gone just yet.

Nicola: 'Why should I be scared?'

Davide Nicola refused to criticise Genoa for their 3-1 defeat to Juventus last night, claiming ‘there’s nothing scarier than’ when he took over.

Genoa remain without a win since Serie A resumed, losing two and drawing one of their three games, but Nicola maintained he saw enough positives from his team against the reigning champions.

“I’m not dissatisfied about tonight,” the coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“The first game didn’t satisfy me. There was an improvement at Brescia and another tonight.

Highlights: Genoa 1-3 Juventus

Paulo Dybala’s dancing feet, a Cristiano Ronaldo missile or the remote-controlled Douglas Costa curler – which Juventus goal was the best?

The Bianconeri certainly turned on the style at Marassi to get the better of Genoa in a 3-1 victory.

Their strikers seemed almost to be in a separate contest to out-do each other with the most beautiful goal of the game.

Andrea Pinamonti’s scorcher from a tight angle for the hosts wasn’t so bad either…

Sarri: 'Something has changed'

Juventus coach Maurizio Sarri said he sees a better understanding between Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala after the 3-1 win against Genoa, and admitted he hasn't spoken to Barcelona-bound Miralem Pjanic.

The Bianconeri smashed three balls behind Mattia Perin, who had impressed in the first half against his former teammates, and continued their run towards another Scudetto – still four points clear at the top.
