Tacchinardi: 'Juve must avoid a delicate situation'

Former Juventus midfielder Alessio Tacchinardi said a ‘red light’ has been lit for coach Andrea Pirlo and that the Bianconeri ‘must turn it off immediately’.

The Old Lady get a chance to bounce back against Napoli in the Supercoppa Italiana on Wednesday, and the 45-year-old highlighted Cristiano Ronaldo’s ‘sarcastic grimace of surrender’ in the 2-0 defeat to Inter on Sunday.

Juve in Shomurodov talks?

Juventus have reportedly contacted Genoa about forward Eldor Shomurodov.

Calciomercato.com claims the Bianconeri have been in talks with Genoa over a possible move for the striker, who arrived from Rostov for a reported €7.5m in October 2020.

After 12 games in Serie A, the 25-year-old has contributed two goals and one assist, but the performances for the Grifone has impressed the giants in the Italian top tier.

Mancini defends Pirlo: 'It's normal'

Italy CT Roberto Mancini defends Juventus coach Andrea Pirlo after the derby defeat to Inter. ‘It’s normal to have difficulties at the beginning’.

Inter secured a 2-0 win over the Bianconeri on Sunday and currently sit seven points above the Old Lady, who have a game in hand.

Mancini was pleased to see Italy international Nicolò Barella score and said he enjoyed watching ‘a good game’.

Joy for Barella on and off the pitch

Nicolò Barella had a perfect night on and off the pitch, as the midfielder helped Inter beat Juventus at San Siro and then his wife gave birth to Matilde.

The former Cagliari midfielder’s wife Federica Schievenin posted the news on Instagram: “Welcome to our beloved Matilde”.

Barella scored and assisted during the 2-0 win against Juventus in the Derby d’Italia on Sunday, before he became father for the third time.

A disastrous start for Pirlo?

Juventus coach Andrea Pirlo has picked up nine fewer points than Maurizio Sarri after 17 games and has matched Max Allegri’s worst start to a season in Turin.

La Gazzetta dello Sport pointed out that last time Inter beat Juventus 2-0 at San Siro, the Nerazzurri won the Treble and the Bianconeri finished seventh in the League, 27 points behind their rivals.

Petagna 'fit to face Juventus'

Napoli striker Andrea Petagna ‘had physio and worked in the gym’ today and is expected to be fit to start against Juventus on Wednesday.

The Azzurri face the Old Lady in the Italian Super Cup Final that will take place at Reggio Emilia’s Mapei Stadium.

According to Sky Sport, Dries Mertens is not fit to start against the Bianconeri, while Andrea Petagna is expected to feature in Rino Gattuso’s  XI.

Valeri to officiate Juve-Napoli

Paolo Valeri will oversee the Italian Supercup Final between Juventus and Napoli on Wednesday, the AIA has announced.

The Bianconeri and the Azzurri will meet at Reggio Emilia’s Mapei Stadium on Wednesday with Paolo Valeri who will officiate the game.

It will be the first encounter of the season between Juve and Napoli as their Serie A clash scheduled for October 4 was not attended by Napoli who were initially given a 3-0 defeat by default and docked a point.

Mario Mandzukic has begun his medical tests ahead of completing a move to Milan.

The former Juventus striker landed in Italy on Sunday evening and begun his medical examinations with the Rossoneri early on Monday morning.

Mancini warns Pirlo: ‘Coaching is not like playing’

Italy CT Roberto Mancini was ‘happy’ to see Nicolò Barella scoring against Juventus and warned Andrea Pirlo ‘coaching is not like playing.’

The Azzurri coach shared his thoughts on the Scudetto race in an interview with Domenica Sportiva after Inter-Juventus.

“It was a nice game and I was happy to see Barella scoring. It’s a nice victory for Inter," Mancini said.

“Juventus can play a bad game once in a while, it happens in football,” he added.
