Several Serie A players suffered injuries during the international break and Napoli and Atalanta seem the most affected.

Serie A resumes this weekend with five matches on Saturday and five on Monday, and many clubs will be forced to do without players who sustained injuries during the international break.

Milan will travel to Florence for a game against Fiorentina without Simon Kjaer, as confirmed by Stefano Pioli during a press conference on Friday. The Denmark international suffered a muscle injury while on international duty.

However, Napoli and Atalanta seem the most affected given that the Partenopei will be without Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and La Dea will travel to the Stadio Maradona without Charles De Ketelaere. On the other hand, Teun Koopmeiners may recover in time for Nerazzurri’s key game against the Serie A title holders.

Inter keeper Yann Sommer has recovered from an ankle injury suffered with the Swiss national team and is expected to start against Empoli on Monday. Stefan de Vrij will miss the game against the Tuscans with an adductor issue.

Roma striker Azmoun suffered a severe hamstring injury with Iran and won’t be available in Lecce on Monday.

Verona talent Tomas Suslov will be forced to the sidelines for nearly a month due to an ankle ligament injury sustained with Slovakia. Meanwhile, Udinese‘s Lorenzo Lucca is in doubt for an away game at Sassuolo due to a minor muscle injury sustained with Italy’s national team, which also prevented him from making his senior Azzurri debut.
