Boban: 'Different visions of Milan'

Zvonimir Boban and Paolo Maldini admit they have “a different vision” of Milan to Elliott Management, while Ivan Gazidis has an unusual description for football.

Milan sale and Allegri return?

Elliott Management Corporation are reportedly in talks to sell Milan to Bernard Arnault for €960m, with Max Allegri lined up as their new Coach.

According to La Repubblica newspaper, the negotiations are well underway for the US hedge fund to sell on the Serie A club.

Elliott are only in charge because former President Yonghong Li defaulted on loan repayments, so the club was effectively among repossessed assets.

The intention was always to get the club financially stable again before selling on to a different investor.

Milan appeal FFP deadline

Milan will reportedly appeal to have the UEFA Financial Fair Play deadline extended from 2021 to the more manageable 2023.

The ruling was handed down by UEFA that they would have to pay for failing to balance the books by having €12m in prizes withheld and seeing their European ban reinstated if they fail to break even by 2021.

It has been reported the Rossoneri are lodging an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

Milan's chain of command

It feels like a very long time since Carlo Ancelotti had Milan at the top of world football, writes Matthew Santangelo.

Solely based on the fact Milan’s bench has been a revolving door in recent years as they search for much-needed stability, it feels like an age ago when the likes of Arrigo Sacchi or Carlo Ancelotti roamed Milanello as the skipper of a perennial European powerhouse.

FT: Yonghong Li always doomed

As Yonghong Li seemingly won’t reply to Milan calls, the Financial Times outlined how Elliott Management’s takeover was inevitable from the start.

Chinese businessman Li came out of nowhere to purchase the club from Silvio Berlusconi in April 2017 for €740m, although €300m of it was from a high-interest loan.

US hedge fund Elliott Management were due to be repaid €380m (including interest) in October 2018, but never got that far, as Yonghong Li defaulted on a smaller additional €32m loan last week.
