Official: Udinese sign Bonifazi

Udinese have officially announced the signing of Kevin Bonifazi, who arrives on loan with an option to buy from SPAL.

The Friuli have confirmed the signing of the former Torino defender and the reports have previously suggested the club must part with €11m next summer to make the deal permanent.

“Kevin Bonifazi is a new Udinese player,” a statement on the club’s official website read. “The defender born in 1996 arrives on loan with the option to buy from SPAL until June 30, 2021.”

Report: Bonifazi close to Udinese

Udinese are reportedly on the verge of signing Kevin Bonifazi from SPAL and expect the player to arrive for his medical tomorrow.

Sky Sport Italia reports the Friuli have reached an agreement with the Biancazzurri and are closing a deal with the centre-back tomorrow.

The former Torino man will move on a paid loan with an option to buy and SPAL are believed to get back the €11m they paid for the defender.

The 24-year-old played 62 times for SPAL and has played 50 times in Serie A, including nine appearances for the Granata.

Serie B: Three positive for COVID-19 at SPAL

SPAL have announced three positive cases of coronavirus in the first team squad, one of them is defender Kevin Bonifazi.

“SPAL announce that, in the light of further medical tests provided for by the protocols and carried out on the first team in the past few hours, three Biancazzurri members has tested positive to COVID-19,” the club wrote in a statement.

“The three members, all asymptomatic and placed in home isolation in agreement with the health authorities as required by the same protocol, are: Kevin Bonifazi and two other members.”

SPAL have three COVID-19 cases

SPAL announced that three players have tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of the new season.

The club was relegated into Serie B and is due to resume training for the 2020-21 campaign next week.

As per protocol, there were blanket Coronavirus tests on all the players and members of staff.

A statement confirms three employees tested positive and have now been quarantined.

They are all asymptomatic and isolating at home.

Bonifazi positive for COVID-19

Torino defender Kevin Bonifazi, who spent this season on loan at SPAL, confirmed he has tested positive for COVID-19.

This is the second case at SPAL after striker Andrea Petagna, who was tested when starting pre-season training with his new club Napoli.

“I wanted to tell everyone that, after various tests, I am positive for COVID-19,” wrote Bonifazi on Instagram.

“Everyone should get tested, for their own safety and those who are close to them!”

Bonifazi: 'Happy about Di Biagio'

Kevin Bonifazi has revealed that he is “happy” to be reunited with Luigi Di Biagio at SPAL after his six-month struggle with Torino.

After struggling to establish himself at Torino, the defender came back to SPAL this winter and has already scored during the first three appearances since his return.

SPAL decided to part ways with Leonardo Semplici earlier this week and former Italy Under-21 coach Luigi Di Biagio has taken his place at the Paolo Mazza.

Official: Bonifazi rejoins SPAL

SPAL have officially re-signed Kevin Bonifazi from Torino, announced the club.

Bonifazi had been linked with a return to the Ferrara-based side for a number of weeks.

It was reported yesterday that a deal was close between the two sides.

Now it has been made official, with SPAL releasing a statement on the club’s website.

Bonifazi has joined his old side on loan with an obligation to buy for €12m.

Report: SPAL closing in on Bonifazi

SPAL are, according to Sky Sport Italia, one step away from bringing Torino defender Kevin Bonifazi back to Ferrara.

The 23-year-old was a key member at the Paolo Meazza when SPAL ended their 49-year long absence from the top division in 2016-17.

He also spent last season on loan at SPAL and now Sky Sport Italia reports that he will move back for the third time on a loan deal with an obligation to buy for €12m.

He will reportedly sign a five-year contract with the Biancazzurri, who are currently 18th in the League and one point away from safety.

Semplici: 'SPAL needed that win'

Leonardo Semplici said SPAL “certainly needed a game like this against a great team like Atalanta” after the shock 2-1 victory in Bergamo.

The club from Ferrara not only came back from an early Josip Ilicic goal to get their first Serie A win away to Atalanta since 1966, they also clawed themselves off the foot of the table.

Now SPAL have 15 points, alongside Brescia, leaving Genoa bottom on 14.

Semplici: 'Kurtic asked to be sold'

SPAL coach Leonardo Semplici states that he wants “to see a reaction” from his side following their 2-0 defeat to Verona last week, and Jasmin Kurtic asked to be sold.
