Morata in Juventus squad

Alvaro Morata is in the Juventus squad for tomorrow’s match against Napoli.

The Spaniard went off injured during the win over Genoa last weekend, and played no part in Wednesday’s draw with Frosinone.

However, the striker has been named among the Bianconeri squad for the trip to San Paolo, with Kwadwo Asamoah also in the travelling party.

Mario Mandzukic and Sami Khedira are still not fit enough to be involved.

Asamoah off UEFA list

Juventus have not included Kwadwo Asamoah or Simone Padoin in their squad for the Champions League.

The deadline for clubs to name their 25-man squad is this evening, and the Bianconeri have submitted a list of 23 players to UEFA, leaving two spaces as they could not name enough players developed by the club, of which there should be four.

Asamoah was thought to be nearing a return to fitness following knee surgery, but has not been included for the group stages, with Padoin also left out.

English interest in Asamoah

Arsenal and Chelsea are reportedly interested in Juventus’ Kwadwo Asamoah, but the Bianconeri are not keen to sell.

The Ghanaian missed the second half of last season with a knee injury, making just 10 appearances across all competitions.

Capable of playing at left wing-back or in central midfield, Tuttosport believes that the 26-year-old is attracting interest from the English Premier League.

The sports daily reports Chelsea and Arsenal are both tracking the former Udinese man, but Juve are said to be unwilling to sell the player.

“The same is true of others, for example Kwadwo Asamoah, who might not be able to play in the Champions League, but will be very useful in Serie A and the Coppa Italia.

Chelsea 'bid £24m for Asamoah'

Ghanaian and English papers claim Chelsea are prepared to pay £24m for Juventus man Kwadwo Asamoah in January.

The report emerged in Africa and has spread to Metro.

It would be a remarkable surprise for Asamoah to leave Turin, especially in January, as he has been ruled out for three to four months by a knee injury.

The 26-year-old’s absence coincides with Romulo’s on-going injury problems, meaning Simone Padoin has to take the left-back role.
