Agent: 'Dalbert loving Fiorentina'

Dalbert’s agent says the left-back “loves” life at Fiorentina after two years at Inter, where “he didn’t get to express himself.”

The Brazilian arrived on a season-long loan from the Nerazzurri in August after just 26 appearances at San Siro.

With already 11 games under his belt, Emerson Figueroa is delighted with how his client has fared in Florence so far.

“At Inter he didn’t get to express himself like he does now,” Figueroa told La Nazione. “Now he’s started to pay everyone back.

Pjanic case different from Lukaku

Commisso: Expected more from Atalanta

Fiorentina President Rocco Commisso “expected something stronger” from Atalanta after Dalbert was racially abused by one of their fans.

Play was temporarily halted while a message was read out over the stadium speaker following racist insults aimed at Dalbert.

Atalanta at first downplayed the incident, then released a statement condemning the actions of a few individuals.

“This message has to be stated and restated that these types of chants are unacceptable,” Italian-American Commisso told ViolaNation.

Tommasi: 'Italy tolerates racism'

Players’ Association President Damiano Tommasi acknowledges Italy has “a level of tolerance for racism that doesn’t come into line with other countries.”

The issue of dealing with fans making racist chants is debated in a very different way in the Peninsula, where many still do not agree with the protocol of halting play for abuse and there seem to be no real rules in place allowing clubs, stewards or the authorities to eject individual fans during a match.

FIGC to probe Dalbert racism

The FIGC will open an investigation into the racial abuse aimed at Fiorentina left-back Dalbert by Atalanta fans last night.

Now, the FIGC’s Giudice Sportivo panel has confirmed that the federal prosecutor will look into the extent of the abuse and its origin, as well as ask Dalbert for his opinion on events.
