Official: Milan extend Pioli to 2022

Milan confirmed they will not hire Ralf Rangnick and are extending Stefano Pioli’s contract to 2022. 'This is not a decision based on recent victories, but one based on how Stefano has built team spirit and unity of purpose.'

Report: Rangnick to Milan is off

Kicker and Bild in Germany are reporting that Ralf Rangnick’s proposed move to take over at Milan next season has been abandoned, as Stefano Pioli will sign a new contract.

Milan had been in negotiations with Rangnick reportedly as long ago as November 2019, that was the version of events given by former director Zvonimir Boban.

After complaining publicly that he and Paolo Maldini had not been informed by CEO Ivan Gazidis that the talks were taking place, Boban was fired.

RB want 8m to release Rangnick for Milan

Milan might have some problems in their pursuit of Ralf Rangnick, as it’s reported Red Bull are demanding €8m to release him from his contract.

It’s no secret that the Rossoneri have been in negotiations with 62-year-old Rangnick to take over as their coach for at least seven months, giving him carte blanche to control their transfer strategy as well as the team tactics.

Agent: 'Rangnick wanted Schick at Leipzig...'

Agent Pavel Paska has hinted Roma loanee Patrick Schick could be tempted by a proposed move to Milan, ‘if Rangnick were to coach there’.

The Czech striker has excelled in the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig and has been linked with a move to the Rossoneri in recent weeks.

His agent Paska denied that the Diavolo have been in touch but seemed convinced it would be something Schick could consider.

“I have no such information,” Paska told Idnes.cz regarding the reported interest from Milan.

Rangnick wants Schick for Milan

Future Milan coach Ralf Rangnick has reportedly chosen Patrik Schick to lead their attack next season, as RB Leipzig won’t pay Roma the full €29m.

The 24-year-old Czech Republic international spent this season on loan at RB Leipzig, partly because he was picked by Red Bull Head of Sport and Development Rangnick.

The loan cost €3.5m and there was an option to buy for a further €29m, but the German club let that expire, hoping to negotiate a significantly lower fee.

Milan back in for Dani Olmo?

Milan could return for Dani Olmo this summer, as the RB Liepzig attacker could reportedly follow Ralf Rangnick to San Siro.

TMW claims Milan will try again to get the 22-year-old, who chose a move to the German Bundesliga over the Rossoneri in January.

The Diavolo have followed the Spain international for a long time and tried to lure him to Serie A from Dinamo Zagreb last winter.

The report claims Dani Olmo could move on after only six months at Leipzig and insists Milan are preparing another attempt to get their man.
